Re: I have found a RHD1968 911L and need help please.

The owner is keen to know that it will not be broken. I have a few weeks to think about it.. Well, I think this your bargaining tool. If he wants it to be restored, then its value is less than that parts. IMO the car is worth £10 to £15k as is. £15k should be achievable if the car is broken for par...

Re: I have found a RHD1968 911L and need help please.

I agree, that the car is worth when finished £75-£100k and the higher end can only be achieved if all the original parts are there esp interior, doesn't matter what condition and most items can be restored. Alos most importantly will be the standard of restoration - again cutting corners or trying t...

Wanted - Intermediate Shaft 67 911

HI - My 67S engine was not only badly damaged when i got it but aslo came as a box of bits. Currently rebuilding and noticed the intermediate shaft is for a later engine. While I do have a suitable shaft for an original 65 911 engine I'd rather not use is as will only have to find a shaft to replace...

Re: 3.2 911 engine: mods to give 7600 min red line?

I'm a big fan of dougherty racing cams, and john (dougherty) will gladly chat oer spec and advise what will work best. I'd use his modern cam profiles before using std porsche ones, he does seem to to get cams to do the best of both worlds ie. I'm ordering my 3rd set of cams from him soon. I also us...

Re: Soundproof retrofit workshop

You need to get some Mass Loaded Vinyl, its used in the building trade to reduce noise from one room to another - google it to find out all you'll need to know.

Re: Any recommended products to protect wheels from brake du

I've been using Devils Blood which is used to remove iron content from car paint surface ans works wonders on wheels, esp those that look so far gone that they'll need painted. Great product in my opinion. As for protection - Ive no idea.

Re: Does you 912 or 911 bonnet pop open!

Had this problem for a couple of years 2014-16. Followed advice to clean up, rotate plunger, adjust length and add some metal to end of plunger. Nothing successful. Asked independent specialist to look at it when they were doing some other work. They replaced cable first, did not solve, then they r...

Re: Anyone have a decent wiring diagram for a 67 5 gauge car

I use the ones on Pelican Parts, I normally print them off at A1 - find a local office supplies or similar and they should be able to print it for you. As far as I know all early five gauge cars are the same generally but some may have different gauges but the wiring should be easy to work out. One ...

Re: Original paint colour v change and impact on value

In my opion the original colour of a car is more important the more original the car is, modified cars less so. The value of any car is taken in the round, i.e. what it is at the time. My 67S was originally special order silver but then re painted a few times, when I repainted I resisted painting si...
