I did and have now replied. I can understand that you're looking for something more traditional, so good luck with your search.

Re: Anyone know owt about old car stereos?
Yes. the lead will have been wired so that the action of plugging a 3.5mm plug into the socket is for the mechanical switch in the socket to disconnect the pass-through and connect the signal from the 3.5mm socket to the amplifier instead. And yes you could instead take the radio signal off to your ...

Re: Anyone know owt about old car stereos?
Mark, See the pins on the 'blanking' plug for the 8-track DIN connector? They are 'passing' the line level radio signal from the receiver stage of the radio to the amplifier stage of the radio (one for left channel, one for right channel). If you intercept them you can replace them with any other li...

Chesil's ones always used to be (and I presume they still are) made by Caerbont Automotive Instruments in Swansea (who also trade as speedy cables on the cable / repair side)...

Re: Hot Starting
You could fit the thick head-to-manifold insulating gaskets that come in the full gasket set, or CSP sell one to go between manifold and carb for the IDF. With carbs/injection at the throttle body I've always felt you want the manifold to be hot so preferred the later. But you want to stop the fuel ...

Re: Fuel Safe Racing Fuel Cell Question
Greg,
I had a handful machined up, of which Rich had the last. You can have the cad if it helps / I could 3d print one if you were going to paint it.
For IVA you may want to go with an aero filler and then swap over after?

Re: Next Project
Next on the list is the heated screen, bought HG's chesil screen but it seems Chesil have changed the profile at some point. So the Gentleman he is he's had it back. So now without a screen as it's been left at the glass manufactures to get a profile confirmed. Have you asked Peter about that? I wa...

Re: new steel wheels
Thanks Rich, No one has picked up the phone about the Speedster yet, and I priced it to sell, so I suspect it'll be staying in my ownership for a while longer.... In which case it will be out with all the ancillary gauges, in with a GaugePilot, and i'll be making the rigid tonneau during the winter....
