Re: Time to change, diesel or petrol?
We recently replaced our Volvo XC60 2.4 D5 diesel with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) as a direct result of Winchester Council's parking policies which are designed to discourage commuters from the centre of the city. Parking was quite expensive £8 per day, but a 75% reduction on a season ticket is offered...

Re: Brake Servo vacuum
Rich, I've had the servo running both from a single connection on a kadron balance pipe, and on a single tapping on each manifold from IDF manifolds (so 2 of the 4 cylinders). I'm not sure that we run our engines so on the edge that the extra air injected through the servo feed line 'air leak' will ...

If it were me, and 100 miles range was enough, for 5 years time i'd be seriously considering building it with an electric motor...

I have a new set of CB Performance ones no longer required. And Jenvey TF throttle bodies and air filters (for top of Jenvey, not IDF; different pattern) for that matter...

Re: Custom Oil Pipes
Rich, I used rigid aluminium pipes for my fuel lines and flared on tube nuts which mated to standard AN fittings. These:- http://www.thinkauto.com/acatalog/On_line_shop_Tube_nut___sleeve_141.html http://www.thinkauto.com/acatalog/On_line_shop_Aluminium_tube___fittings_140.html You'll need to check b...

Re: O/T & non-Porsche domestic electrical problem
I'd ask him to bring an AVR of the type he is proposing to your house and demonstrate that it magically makes it work.... (plug in versions exist). I'm surprised a washing machine is that fussy but 180V is rather low... To try and help with the questions... Having googled, AVRs work in the range 180...

Re: Proxy server
Slightly off topic, but the XenForo forum software allows an admin to degrade select user's / IP addresses experiences (slow loading, site loading errors) to slowly "persuade" them to stop visiting... Doesn't seem to be the case here :-) Have you tried using googles DNS's rather than Virgi...

Re: Garage advise needed
Sadly it won't - it is a chemical reaction with the tyre that discolours the plastic - chemicals present in the tyres from the vulcanisation process I believe.911hillclimber wrote: Came up like new (they are dove grey), but tyre marks will not come off.

Re: Garage advise needed
I've gone from ecotile plastic tiles (at my old house) to industrial Porcelain floor tiles (just finishing the grouting in the new house). The ecotiles lock together so no issues dragging a loaded trolley jack across them. I didn't like the discolouration, caused by the chemicals in car tyres, where...

Re: Installing lambda sensor from scratch
The LC-1 has been superseded by the LC-2 now. Looking at an LC-2 I have here, it is supplied with a simple 1" mild steel threaded tube much like what you have to weld into the exhaust. We often, though, supply a stainless alternative to the mild steel bung when LC-2s are used by our GaugePilot ...

Re: Halda tripmaster
Thanks Dave for the mention. Yes, I'm part of GaugePilot, we do support the forum, and we have a large collection of halda spares as we found that supporting the original mechanical tripmeters complimented our new electronic approach... We do have the glass windows and one would be £13.50 delivered....

Re: Halda tripmaster
Hi, We have a pretty good collection of spares and gears for these if you need any parts. I'll check if we have any screens in the morning just in case you need one. The +, O, and - control determines whether the odometer is running and incrementing (+), off (O), or running and decrementing (-). Simon
