Re: Long Distance Restoration 1970, 911T

Thanks for the kind comments, We drove the car back to the hotel and parked it in their guest parking, although it dawned on me we didn’t have an immobiliser or tracking and had to take a chance that if someone really wanted it they probably could take it. David and I spent a fairly tame evening in ...

Re: Bowing out

Hi Thomas, I've read all the comments and can only say I've really valued every part of DDK. I mostly don't know who the people are behind the names and hope one day to meet some of them, but I do feel part of a community. It's an amazing forum and you have done a great job. It's probably a bit than...

Re: Long Distance Restoration 1970, 911T

After consulting with Eric, I was told the best Porsche guy in Vegas was Tony at Carls Place. It was only a mile or two from the hotel so after a quick nap I walked over. I forgot how hot it was and turned up an hour later dehydrated and looking even more dishevelled. Tony and Diane are absolutely a...

Re: Long Distance Restoration 1970, 911T

Thanks guys, I managed to sleep for two hours and woke as the sun was coming up. David who is 6ft 6 had originally had his door open and legs outside, he then thought he might get bitten by a snake so pulled them back in and then struggled to sleep. We discussed our options and realised at 5.00am th...

Re: Long Distance Restoration 1970, 911T

The gauges were all restored by Palo Alto who by all accounts are one of the best worldwide. They looked beautiful but somehow in transit a tab at the back came loose of the fuel/oil gauge and had caused the shorting and burnt back wire. David and I decided to take a walk and let the guys decide wha...

Re: Long Distance Restoration 1970, 911T

Just back from my trip to the U.S of A. The plan was to collect the car and drive it from Sandy in Utah to Huntington Beach in California. I had absolutely no idea how stressed out I would feel prior to the trip (and during it for the most part) as the pressure and responsibility of 2 years of long ...

Re: Back in beige

Feeling for you mate, sorry its a bit sh*tty right now. How about asking a pro paint spray company to give it a blow over, surely it wouldnt be too expensive as you have done all the hard work and then you can carry on? Maybe someone on DDK is feeling generous.... :?:

Keep the faith Jamie.

Re: DDK Grille Badges and Keyrings - charity auction

 I can see that I have been outbid on the keyring! You know what they say you snooze you loose. As it is for such a worthy cause I'm happy to donate my £50 anyway, well done to the winners!

Re: Long Distance Restoration 1970, 911T

On Friday I got the fantastic news that the engine has been put into the car and we are now working towards the 18th of June as the date that everything will be finished. Flights to Salt Lake for the end of June have been booked to collect the car... I think I'm a bit of a wooss :? as this gives me ...
