Re: Window seal issue
You need to ‘massage’ the aluminium trim. Seal will be fine. When I say ‘massage’ I mean hit with a hammer and wooden block. I made a carefully shaped hardwood block wrapped in soft tape that matches the trim profile and curvature. You then hit it from the inside out to push the trim towards the ga...

Window seal issue
Hi all, I had a new windscreen fitted about 6 months ago and over the course of the summer the seal has either shrunk or moved. Hopefully the photo shows this. It fitted perfectly when done and is a genuine porsche seal from the OPC. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20231114/3896d4d437326ca513c64533...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Bit off topic, but I did the bypass roof hack on my early boxster, so I can now lower the roof whilst moving without the handbrake on. Only took 10mins, fiddly part was grounding terminal 15 due to lack of space to work in.

Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
Scandi trip. That sounds exciting. You must put a trip thread up on that 8) You'll be waiting a while i'm afraid James, its being planned for my 50th in 2025. I need that milestone as an excuse to go off for 2 weeks. Though the plan is the wife will fly out and meet me probably in Kristiansand for ...

Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
A cheap but well fettled 986/987 Boxster gives just as much fun if I need a more modern fix and the n/a flat six singing at the back of your head is addictive. Some of my Porsche mates have some nicely tweaked early 996 c2 which again provide much a better driving experience too. This is exactly th...

Re: Won't start.
I had this on my campervan and it was a bad earth. Think it earths to the gearbox? Can't remember exactly, but check your earths, mine just needed cleaning at the contacts and worked perfectly.

Re: Time for a mini rant ! (Insurance for a 1.4 Diesel AX)
when I had just passed my test I had a 1.0 AX, loved it. So basic but it seemed to go forever on a tank of fuel.

Re: First car ideas and advice please
not much to add to this, but on Facebook Market place, has anyone noticed the amount of scam adverts on there? I've stopped looking because the number of hijacked accounts with cars just under the asking price, or crazy cheap, means its difficult to see genuine sales. Doesn't happen on AutoTrader.

Re: Audi TT, any comments?
bit late to the party on this one. I've got a 2005 Mk1TT 1.8T and an early 2.5 Boxster, so easy to compare them. I do think the looks of the TT are going to make it a future classic, however when you drive it, its obvious its a golf / A3 underneath. Don't get me wrong its fairly quick and handles we...
