Re: 928
My friend ran a manual S2 as his main car from 95-140k miles from maybe 2014-2018 or so. He reckons he broke even to almost the £ (he had a spreadsheet…) on running costs vs appreciation, about £2k a year on average. It was basically very reliable and he got 22mpg over its time with him (also on the...

Re: Ferrari - The movie
Just in an adidas shop at a discount outlet place (the very definition of soulless) and saw some Ferrari jogging bottoms and t shirts. “What would enzo say” I thought There are at least 4 urban yoof types round my endz rocking this jacket at the moment: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1630404530/fe...

Re: Ferrari - The movie
Le Mans 66 / Ford vs Ferrari proved that big name big budget car films can work ($200m+ against a $95m budget), but I guess that was pre pandemic and it was written and directed by some pretty outstanding talents (Jez Butterworth is an early Porsche enthusiast) but Michael Mann is hardly a beginner....

Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
Look! A genuine 2.7 Carrera! Same engine as the RS! https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/1974-porsche-911-gOAKm4 Good to hear it had head gasket work in 2016. Always one to watch for on these. I can’t be bothered to look at all the pictures but what’s the bet that their claim of ‘no visible rust’ ...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
My father in law did that route as far as Shiraz in the mid 70s in a held-together-with-riveted-on-biscuit-tin VW camper. Even then it was apparently mega sketchy with lots of bribes / arrests / running from bandits etc.

Crumbs. Just clicked the link. Nearly £60k. Was thinking it’d be more like £40k.

Re: Suspension Refresh
Try to get a ride in an elephanted car. I’ve been in a couple that have been really hard riding, though it was a while ago and I think they probably had more than just bushes. I do very much remembering resolving at the time that standard was the answer.

It might just be me, it often is, but…
Every time this thread pops up on my ‘new posts’ list IMG_1879.jpeg I think it’s going to say something like “I drove past there earlier and there were loads of police and fire engines outside” Or “Someone told me they’re being prosecuted by Porsche AG for passing off Covins as 2.8 RSRs” Or “They’ve...

Re: Chris Harris and the Tuthil 911
Been following that build and it’s stunning. As graham says, pretty sure the door isn’t fully shut as the build is strong on detail I was just being a dick really. I’m sure it’s lovely in real life, how could it not be? Fabulous thing but I would question why? But Andrew has some great cars and can...

£400k aren’t they? How much extra do you reckon they’d want to get the doors and bonnet to fit well?stevenery wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 11:36 am The Pistonhead's car of Andrew D is now complete. Seems pleased with it!

Re: WTB: 964 Manual Coupe
Pretty sure it’s NOT a 964 though and it’s a targa with a coupe roof according to the write up I think it's a 3.0 originally Targa with roof added for rigidity. Sent from my SM-G988B using Tapatalk Yes, though it was kinda thought of the other way round - starting a race car build with a cab or tar...
