Re: Oil pressure check 2.2T

different to the 5.2 the 2.2 sensor is at the clutch end of the engine not the fan end. Having said that the oil pressure light connector is in the same place at the fan end. This would be a good place to go in as it leaves the gauge sender iin situ. Does anyone know the thread on the oil light pres...

Oil pressure check 2.2T

Looking to do a pressure check to see how accurate my on board pressure gauge is. As its a comparison check i do not want to tap into existing pressure sensor port. Whats the most convenient other pressure connection I could use.

Re: Car pulling to the left

AS suggested after such a long layup stripped the front calipers. pads ( which are nearly new) were very difficult to remove. Checked piston movement, fettled pads so that they were a loose fit going into the calipers and hey presto brakes are fine . On its MOT today i watched the brake test and bot...

Re: Fusch wheel swop

Thank you for your input. I would not fit replica wheels as i believe in staying standard origional so it was 6J x 15 i was looking at. Anyway tyres now sorted and on the road allbeit with another slight problem of the car pulling to the left as per my other post.

Re: Car pulling to the left

Thank you all for the response. One thing i did not mention so as not to compicate matters but the brakes are pulling slightly to the right. When the tyres were off in the tyre fitters I spun all the wheels to see if brakes were dragging and they were not. I even tapped the pads back slightly to mak...

Car pulling to the left

As per a previuos post i decided to stick with the 14" confort wheels as i refresh my 1971 911T after years of storage, Drove to my tyre place for new tyres as the existing ones were 18 years old. On driving the car there is a noticable pull to the left which i thought might be tracking. Howeve...

Re: Fusch wheel swop

Well that settles it. I have looked at the price of used 15" and the price of used 14" and there is a huge gap.
For the limited driving i do these days lobbing out £2k on wheels is not justified so 14" wheels it is.
If i dont like the ride i will just take out my 356 instead.

Re: Fusch wheel swop

Often wondered why the handling was crap but that explains it. Probably my best bet is to get a swap on all my 14" for 15". Having said that at my age my competative driving has long gone its now just the pleasure of driving a classic and that awesome exhaust note.

Fusch wheel swop

JUst brought my 1971 911T out oif long term stoirage to use for the summer. Tyres are now very old so need to replave. On investigation found it is fitted with 14" wheels but on checking the spare which i do not think has ever been used found it to be a 6J x15" with 195/60 tyre fitted. Doe...

Re: Sub par brakes

Kust read through all the posts and note the change of master cylinder and calipers. If you use a smaller mastercylinder you will generate more pressure in the system for a given push. If you use a larger piston in the calipers you will increase the force exerted by the master cylinder pressure. Tha...

Re: Sub par brakes

I have a 356SC with disc brakes. During restoration i fitted proffesionally reconditioned calipers, new pads and new discs on the front. I had huge problems bleeding them to start with as i would get a good pedal then after a week of standing the pedal would go half way down. Turned out the new seal...

Re: Sub par brakes

It’s rumoured that Porsche tended to underbrake their cars in the old days to stop the front wheels locking up and losing all control. With later ABS this problem disappeared. I would not want brakes that lock front wheels when you stand on them in earnest in an emergency stop. It does not help when...

Re: Carrera 3.2 Speedo not working

You are not wrong. If it was not for google i would be lost. Thank you for the tip the information was priceless but alas still not solved the problem. Checked output from pulser. I do not have a buzzer type meter but when put a multi meter on the wires and spun the wheel it changed from "1&quo...

Re: Sub par brakes

You list that you have a 356B but say in your text" calipers". Have you got drum or disc brakes fitted as per 356C?

Re: Carrera 3.2 Speedo not working

got into the tunnel and found 2 plugs. One marked 911 612 051 00 qnd has two brown wires. The other are two similar connectors with one wire each, one is brown the other green. Which wires are the ones connected to the speed sensor?
