Re: Stock 23mm or 26/27mm rear torsion bar?

26MM bar and polybronze bushes arrived from Elephant racing. Even with the 20% VAT and import duty, it was still a lot cheaper than buying in the UK. ARB bar is back from being powder coated, so I'm just waiting for spring plates, covers and hardware to be returned from the platers and a few bushes ...

Re: Opinions on the value of things 911

My twin plug 3.2SS engine with 46mm PMO's and some other trick parts cost around 23k to build in 2016 + the original donor engine (4k I think). So you've got to be looking at close to 30k for the engine alone.

Re: 70T rolling resto / right date

With the bits off, they are off to be prettied up.... Spring plates and overs are being re zinc plated. I did consider buying the adjustable spring plates from Elephant Racing, but as they are quite pricey, I will go with the originals for now. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52654155797_1757f28...

Re: 70T rolling resto / right date

One of my winter jobs is to sort out the squeaky rear suspension. Its been really annoying! Step 1: Jack up the car. I usually use the suspension mounts to do that, but obviously if I'm taking the suspension off, I need an alternative. First off, block the front wheels. https://live.staticflickr.com...

Re: Stock 23mm or 26/27mm rear torsion bar?

Thanks for all your advice....... Just for reference, my car has 79 3.0 engine, which is now a 3.2SS with twin plug ignition, 46MM PMOs, lightened flywheel, FG tinware, Turbo Thomas dual outlet stainless exhaust. I also have a fibreglass rear bumper, aluminium engine lid and 915 gearbox. I would ima...

Re: Resto thread for 119100008 69t

I got mine out recently through the clock and speedo holes. Just undo the top 2 bolts on the strap, remove the wipers and bolts that hold them in and you should be able to wiggle it out. Its a tight fit, but with a bit of patience it will come out. My advice would be to put some electrical tape arou...

Stock 23mm or 26/27mm rear torsion bar?

I'm in the process or replacing my rear suspension bushes. At least, that was the original plan. As always, this is turning into a 'whilst you're in there project' My 70T has a 3.2SS engine and 915 gearbox, so it's heavier in the rear than stock. After inspecting my torsion bars, they are the origin...

Re: Stainless cup holder

Hi,
I'd like a black one too. I've been thinking about it for a while, but I think it would be useful. Please let me know if you still have any.

Many thanks

Re: 70T rolling resto / right date

Chrome London sent my fixed radio back. I had fried both the radio and the blue tooth dongle. I reinstalled both yesterday and put some NOS basket weave on the dashboard facia that I happened to have in my garage. The sound through the single dash speaker is pretty good, although I did replace it a ...

Thanks James. I'm pretty happy with it. Frunk area now back together https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52615438264_50f4afd018_z.jpg Front end is now back together again. I fitted an early style orange Porsche badge. Previously it had a sticker. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52615438144_70f68...

Re: LED dash/gauge lights

I installed my blue one today. Its certainly very bright and I've not had a chance to drive my car in the dark yet, but I think I'll keep it as is as I certainly won't forget full beam is on!

Re: 70T rolling resto / right date

I bought some Porsche black paint. Shocking match! More of a dark grey than a black https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52612976609_7a0c42f281_z.jpg So I bought an alternative from my local EuroParts shop in Chessington, which looks a lot better https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52612976504_975dff...

Re: LED dash/gauge lights

I just ordered a blue one. I had my dials restored and I think there should have been a blue cover for full beam, but was presumably missed. This is an easy alternative to sending them back. However, I have a couple of boxes of the originals, so will leave the rest as they are.
