Re: 911 Doors - difference with early and later doors?

@James: The left door should be an early G model US Coupe door because it already features the side-impact reinforcement but still has the 3 threaded plates at the bottom. Later G model and 964/993 doors don't feature those any more. Looking at your right-hand side door, the additional slotted hole ...

WTB: 911 right-hand side door

Hi everyone, after having been fooled twice now with allegedly perfect right-hand side doors (one rusty, one damaged beyond repair), I am a bit desperate because the restauration of my 1972 911 is almost completed and I am still missing one door. :blackeye:  May I therefore kindly ask in this ...

Re: Replacement door mirror for 73 LHD car

I can confirm that the small rectangular side mirrors retailed by PAG are nice and clean, although they are the same quality as the aftermarket ones. In my eyes the Porsche paper box is not worth the extra penny. :) @Darren: glad you switched to the small one, looking good. Mine came with a 74- item...

Re: 1972 911 Coupe sunroof: Shape of front drain tubes

@Mick: that's very helpful details, thank you. I just found a few older pictures of my car (which has seen quite some 'repair failure'): ride-hand side tube is alot shorter, the left-hand side is weirdly uneven. I am wondering if that's the factory layout.. :? I guess each is a little different, as ...

Re: 1972 911 Coupe sunroof: Shape of front drain tubes

Great description, thanks alot for your quick reply, Mick!

Did your car come with that little S bend in the lower section of the tube?
My car was so rotten in those sections that more or less the whole front part of the car was rebuild. :drunken:

Cheers,
Jan

1972 911 Coupe sunroof: Shape of front drain tubes

Hello everyone, since I cannot find any picture of the front steel drain tubes on a LWB car here or any forum, may I kindly ask if someone could post a picture how the drain tubes bend around the a pillar door section. Furthermore, I do not know the correct length of those tubes at the bottom end - ...

Re: 2.2s Targa rebuild

OK, I'm evidently alone in this but if it was mine I'd want some paint on there. If you've spent so much time and so much money getting back to a rust free car then please protect it. You have very accurately matched the factory finish but at the factory they skimped. They neglected to properly pai...

Re: 2.2s Targa rebuild

Congratulations, you guys really took it one step further with this paint job. A pleasure to read and a reference point for many, many other Early 911 restaurations. :)

Thank you for sharing.

Hi Dave,

I would also fancy a pair of 1972 dated labels to complement your seat belt material.

Thank you,
