Re: Classic Autowerks ‘Ultimate Shift Rod Bushing’

By the way, what's the latest technology recommended for shift coupler bushings?

I used blue PU pushings a few years back but they still came with some play.
Any new developments here are well?

Thanks
Jan

Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44

Yes, all magnesium surfaces are chromated (look at my gearbox photos as well) and any aluminium is cerakoted to match, where appropriate. And yes, Sam is a truly exceptional engine builder. I really dig the looks! Discussed the etch treatment of my gearbox housing today with my engine builder: he c...

Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44

Brilliant, much appreciated!
Assuming that you started with a 4R/5R block, I am relieved to see that the spigot's flange still sports enough 'meat' for proper sealing (whereas opening the spigots to 97mm = 2.7L usually takes it too far).

Fantastic progress, Matt - thanks for sharing! :)

Do you have a few more shots of the block?
I'd be interested to see the spigot area after machining.

Thanks alot,
Jan

Re: My '72 911T

A friend of mine here in Germany, Johannes, had suffered from steering wheel vibrations on his Carrera 3.2 Coupé for long and documented his (finally successful) quest on tape.
Check this out and leave a thumbs up if helpful to you: https://youtu.be/PvlJ6spS0PA

Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44

More photos of the 86.7s - I need to ask Sam about the spigots when I deliver the set to him on Wednesday. Thanks alot, much appreciated! I forgot to mention that the 94,5mm measurement is referring to the statement on the FVD Homepage you posted (actually the only statement I could find on the mig...

Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44

Fantastic progress Matteo, love the project! 8) Since you are soon receiving this gorgeous set of 86.7mm p&cs, may ask you the following question: Can you confirm the 94.5mm spigot size for those cylinders? I am stuck with a 4/5R 911/57 block that has 94.5mm spigots and I do not like the idea of...

Rob, Thanks alot for pointing me at it, that's truly close to my original engine #. :) Unfortunately, price-wise it's a little far off for my taste. :drunken: Cheers Jan Not yours but I'd be amazed if you found closer https://www.design911shop.com/Porsche-911-24L-Engine-911-57-6530065/prod136823/

Original drivetrain: engine 6530021 / gearbox 7330024

Dear all, I am looking for the original drivetrain of my very early 1973 911 T-V Coupé. Engine no. is said to be 6530021, this is a 911/57 911 2.4T-V (RoW) engine. Matching gearbox no. should be 7330024 as I was told, that's a 915/02 5-Speed Manual. Drivetrain probably got lost in Germany or the UK....
