Thanks Keith, I did wonder what you were using.
86A has a bit more duration without pushing the lift so far. So imagine it’s got less aggressive ramps.
If you have a dyno chart I’d be interested to see the torque curve shape (actual numbers is less important).

Camshafts (non stock)
Hello. I’ve got a project type4 engine which I’m collecting parts for. My current thinking is to go with a small capacity turbo engine but I do have both the 1.7 & 2.0 cranks to choose from. Im always looking to maximise the performance to cost ratio so won’t be going that extreme. The biggest p...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Ideally it will get a turbo too (Ruf fanboy who wishes he’d bought CTR#29 when I could have afforded it) but finding a way to package the intercooler discretely is tricky.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Hope everyone made good use of the lovely weather over the weekend. Doubt we can squeeze that many more days out of it….. unless you live In Cornwall. Great pic and makes a change of just seeing pics of slammed type2’s . What’s the specs of the cars or are they stock ish Thanks [emoji4] The red car...

Re: KS's hillclimbing odyssey
The bugpack one is NLA. CB Performance do one with small gears (21mm on the pressure side). There is a nice but expensive German pump from TP. Fitting them behind the stock cooling fan shroud might be a problem. I think Jim C also had the original Salzburg rally pump remade but that was designed for...

Re: VW Type 25 Engine rebuild recommendations
Have a look at campershack on Facebook. No personal experience. However they are used to the problems with getting parts for those engines (camshafts are unobtainable in the correct spec for the DJ and rebuilders do throw in the 1.9 cam which isn’t the same). Similarly, the clips on the rocker shaft...

Creality Ender3 V2. With 2 upgrades, the Creality “touch” probe which maps the surface of the bed to allow for imperfect level and the Creality “spider” HotEnd which can be run at a higher temp for the Nylon filament. It’s definitely hobby grade & needs careful setup. It’s has a well supported c...

Re: 3D printing
Another small design. The OE centre caps don’t fit over the spindle nut so I needed a design with clearance underneath. You can see the nut problem here. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230805/8ebeb26cc9b487b22a8f30f46405cfff.jpg Few measurements & a bit of cad .. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn...

Re: KS's hillclimbing odyssey
Are you running sequential injection or batch fire? CB Performance do a cam sync that fits in the distributor bore & gives you that option (hall sensor, so falling trigger signal).

Re: Help cant find correct discs for my 944/ KG Arse.
It’s the 986 model. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230730/8cef3d849002d37bfe85cb02bef127ff.jpg Do double check the sizes etc. On my beetle, I ended up going a slightly different route using the same rear 944 hub / handbrake mech / caliper mount, with early 944 rear disc and boxster 986 (2.7) rea...
