Re: Road registering an old racing car

I imported my 914 racecar from the USA. I got it road legal, had it mot'ed, and asked Porsche for a Certificate of Origin. Sent it all off to the DVLA and almost by return they issued a V5 and age related plate.

Re: 914's in Sussex

Mapledurham is a very interesting place, and where the film The Eagle Has Landed was shot, however I think it's a bit inaccessible for a car meet. The roads are narrow and potholed, and it's off the beaten track. There are some other venues in the area that might fit the bill such as Basildon House ...

Re: Cortina

I had one as a company car for a while, it was good transport and took me up and down the motorways reliably. This one is very low miles, but I don't want it ! However if it had a Lotus badge .......

Re: Spark Plugs

The Bosch RO 302 Platinum plugs previously fitted are in fact racing plugs which run on the cold side which explains the miss-firing and spitting on start up. ( cost £10 each ! ). Running much better on new plugs and now just waiting for my slot in September when Redtech are going to rebuild the mot...

Re: "New Look" Classic Porsche

Got mine today too. Had to force myself to put it in the magazine rack as I don't want to sit down and read it all in one session. I'm going to ration it to 15 minutes a day. Congratulations Mr S, great improvement !

Its a 2.4 TE with PMO's, I was hoping to find out what the different codes on the plugs actually mean ?

Spark Plugs

Hi, still on a steep learning curve with an aircooled Porsche. The engine was fitted with Bosch RO 302 plugs when I bought it, and my indie thought that they were wrong, and fitted Bosch WR 4 CC. Can anyone help me with a tutorial on spark plugs please ?

Cheers,

Tony

Re: Goodbye old friend

That looks a worthwhile upgrade. Can you modify the 914 rev counter or will you fit a new one ?

Re: PMB 914-6/GT - Rear Calipers

Sorry, don't know what else to suggest, but there has to be more than one option surely? I have been through all this myself recently. You can fit 911 calipers, but that leaves you with the hand brake issue. The most popular solution involves machining the hub and fitting Boxster handbrake mechs. T...
