Re: Maddening Running Issue

Rob, thanks. Re "turning fully off between starts" - it doesn't fully start - i'm having to crank it over in the video. It hasn't been an abrupt fault - seems intermittent. When the car was running fine after re-built it did exactly as per the video one night after a fairmile meet, althoug...

Re: Maddening Running Issue

JB, not resolved yet as have been away - looking to do the 30 sec fuel pump test next week.

Sam, it's a good point re. fuel filter - will check that too.

Rob, no it wont hold revs at all. It just carries on as per the video.

satan wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2024 6:08 pm Hi,

Have you checked points? I had similar but not exactly the same and my points had gone out of adjustment.
points new and not long since run-in service at Greatworth so my thought was unlikely to be points, but ill get a gauge on them to be sure.

Re: Maddening Running Issue

How long has this been happening in relation to the engine re-build.? Are you getting enough fuel delivery to the MFI pump.? There's a 30 second test you can do on the fuel feed from the console to the pump which is in the workshop manual. I would work back from the MFI pump as it sounds like fuel ...

Re: Maddening Running Issue

Thanks Bruce. I can hear the cold start dropping neat fuel into the intakes so I don’t think that’s the issue.
