911T High Idle

My engine idles at 1800 rpm when warm. I can bring the revs down with the clutch, but they return once I move away and come to a stop again.

I've done a search and found plenty of info, but only for MFI / CIS cars. Mine is a carburated 2.4.

Can anyone tell me where I can start-off looking?

An update on the brakes... I fitted new bushes to the pedal assembly. Pelican parts suggested it was a simple procedure... on LHD cars. The cross-linkages of my RHD made it a complete and utter ballache. The kit I bought from Design911 did the job OK - I only replaced the brake pedal and clutch bush...

Bonnet badge fitting

Firstly, I will apologise for lowering the intellectual tone of this forum with this pretty daft question... I have just bought a replacement badge kit for the bonnet of my new T and the rubber backing does not fit around the badge properly. It is too small. Is there some sort of technique to get it...

Oh balls... I bought a bushing kit from Design911 today (they are only up the road). I guess I will just leave the old one in there; the pedals still feel pretty good - it's just the brake pedal which is sticking. I guess the LHD assembly uses the same bushes for the brake pedal as the RHD kit? Than...

It's OK. Is matching parts, has an interesting history, suposedly only 41k miles and three owners, and I got it for £6500.

There are a few areas of bubbling paintwork and a few bits of trim which need replacing, plus the brake issue. Then it should be good to go. I absolutely love it :)

911T owner

Hi DDK. I recently blew my savings on a bloodorange 1972 911T. I live in East London and work as a photographer for a few car magazines. I've enjoyed reading-through the forums and it's good to see so many people from London and the South-East and hope to get myself along to some events once the car...

Thanks for the help guys. The stuff in the pictures looks like mine, so I'm in business! Design911 are local to me and seem to sell the bronze bushing kit you mention, so I'll pick that up tomorrow. Can't wait to have the car on the road... Gary - here's are some pictures of the beautiful machine! T...

911T pedal disassembly

I have just bought my first 911 (a 1972 911T). It has a few small problems, the worst of which is sticking brakes. I traced the problem back to a stiff brake pedal - there appears to have once been a wasp-nest inside the pedal box and the bits have worked their way into the mechanism. I would like t...
