Re: Modena Cento Ore
A few pictures of other cars on the event. No close ups of the TZ I'm afraid. https://c7.staticflickr.com/8/7391/27680974486_3ee7445014_b.jpg IMG_2561 https://c3.staticflickr.com/8/7578/27680961906_fa4a2a0a13_b.jpg IMG_2547 The purple Daytona. I'll bet the guy who ordered it in 1973 had a suit the s...

Re: Modena Cento Ore
Thanks for the kind comments. Will try and answer a few questions. Love the car - any more details? Thanks As some on the forum will know I've owned the car for a long time. It used to have a 906 engine in it but I've been on an originality kick more recently and have returned everything to its deli...

Re: Modena Cento Ore
The last day was a bit of a blur but here we are at the finish line. It was a fantastic event and could only happen in Italy. I'll be going back again next year!

Re: Modena Cento Ore
The one modern car that was allowed to enter was this 918 Spyder driven by a German father and son team. They drove it "to its full potential" and it was something to behold. They chased us down from one of the hillclimbs and we were quite pleased to stay ahead of them for 5 miles. It was ...

Re: Modena Cento Ore
Day 3 was Mugello. The circuit was fantastic. In a similar setting to Spa, lots of elevation changes, flowing corners with no chicanes, wide and smooth surfaced with plenty of run off to give you confidence. Would love to back for a proper track day. The purpose made circuit replaced the original ro...

Parking overnight on Day 2 was in a Piazza in central Florence. A spectacular location which only became more so as night fell. https://c5.staticflickr.com/8/7203/27429008500_efc6c77735_b.jpg IMG_2601 https://c1.staticflickr.com/8/7424/27429009000_623934d1c3_b.jpg IMG_2606 https://c6.staticflickr.co...

Day 2 started at Misano. https://c1.staticflickr.com/8/7303/27094903384_baca11aaa6_b.jpg IMGL4322 The transfers between stages were great fun. We were frequently under police escort - not to slow us down but to speed us up! Police motorcyclists would waive slow moving traffic to the side of the road...

Re: Modena Cento Ore
Each day began with a circuit race. Day 1 was Imola. The Competition guys had 10 mins practice followed by a 20 min race. Quite tough - as most people had never been to any of the circuits before. We were in Regularity as this didn't require us to prep the car to FIA standards. My car never had a ro...

Re: Modena Cento Ore
The start in Rimini was next to the sea front. There were some spectacular cars entered - no less than six Ferrari 250 SWBs. There were plenty of Porsches with the 2.8RSR and 3.0RS seeming to be the weapon of choice in the Competition category. There were rather more replica race 911s than there wer...

Modena Cento Ore
Just returned from one of the best car events I've ever had the privilege of attending. The Modena Cento Ore is a 4 day rally in Italy which follows a different route every year but always ending in Modena. It's similar in concept to the Tour Auto but is smaller and slightly less frenetic. There are...

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
It was a great event - maybe the best one I've done. Am not sure my journo skills are up to a Steve Wright style report but will start a thread with more pics in it.

Re: Top Gear is back TONIGHT
Worth watching the BBC3 Extra Gear programme - it's now up on iPlayer. Rory Reid, Chris Harris and Sabine Schmitz front it and it's way better than the thing they are putting out on BBC2. I wonder how long it will take the BBC to realise they need to switch presenter line ups?

Another good watch from Petrolicious... http://petrolicious.com/the-porsche-718-is-a-living-legacy There's some serious buy in from Porsche AG. This must have cost a fortune to shoot... Phil Lovely film but I'm still not buying that there's a connection between the RS60 and a Boxster. For one thing...

Re: Is the appropriate TR415 available in UK?
I know this is an old chestnut but having sourced some "bulgy" TR415s from a very kind DDK donor and consulted the guys at BS Motorsport I'm still not sure they are a solution. While the bulgy valves might achieve a seal and therefore allow a tubeless tyre to be fitted they aren't designed...
