Re: Air-cooled car... water in oil? Does not compute.

Graham is right, I'd give it an "Italian tune up" ie. a proper good blast, get the oil hot for an hour or more and only then check the condition of the oil filler, most likely clean!

Re: Vintage cycling, 1882. No car content.

"Actually - the death rate is more like 30 per billion miles, so you’d need to ride 3.3 million miles to be killed on average." But there are very much good and bad riders, and for what it's worth, cyclists and then bike riders. I do more miles PA on a bike than in both of my 911s together...

Yuch! Americans really messed up the MGB, and the E-type (as well as others). Final nail in the coffin of desirability was those 'orrible rubber bumpers....

Re: Post-Brexit trade deal - Customs?

I don't think so - what I meant is that ebay will probably charge the HMRC for collecting the VAT on their behalf That'll be interesting considering all the businesses that collect VAT for HMRC at no cost  Not always true. My business is on HMRC's 'flat rate' scheme. Different businesses get d...

Re: All change at Classic Porsche magazine...

Still waiting for #73 to show up. I don't think I'll renew and have told them my feelings and those of the wider Porsche community. Unless they start delivering what they promise, sadly there will soon be no Classic Porsche magazine....

Re: All change at Classic Porsche magazine...

And today I'm told my subscription HAS expired despite issue 73 (available from 27th November) never ever arriving. I'm not sure I will renew, especially as I hear they are bringing out a sister magazine 'drinking sessions in a brewery' but I'm not convinced they'll be able to organise it....

Re: All change at Classic Porsche magazine...

Mine finally arrived today after I complained and they posted a second copy to me "first thing on Friday". Issue 73 is due to be posted out from 8th December I'm told.

Re: All change at Classic Porsche magazine...

Nothing in my postbox yet either. I wrote an email yesterday along the lines of "I've not yet received the magazines I paid for as part of THIS subscription period, how do you expect me to renew...?"

No response yet either.....

Are you trying to stop noise escaping from the workshop or for it to be less noisy within?

Re: A sportscar for...

The answer is simple; 968. I did many 10s of 1000s of miles in mine, many with a bike or even 2 plus weekend luggage in it! Before that I had a 944 (which has already been mentioned) which is just as practical etc but for me the 968 is the 'ultimate 944'

Chris.
