Re: Flares....

Doing a bit of measuring the grip is 29.5 mm on the early wheel and 26.5 mm on the later offset one.

Re: Flares....

The Carrera 2.7 and 3.0RS wheel differed in that the hub was in the centre of the wheel and as you say had a slightly thicker grip.

On the Carrera 3, as in your photo the hub is moved to 10mm below the centre of the wheel to provide a better view of the instruments.

Re: Flares....

Darren,

I reckon the COP is wrong (as many are) with the original colour. Should be able to tell from some hidden areas although doesn't matter if you are changing it anyway.

Re: Flares....

No Guy, just reg and chassis numbers..... https://www.porscheclubgb.com/membership/membership-benefits/certificate-of-production Thanks Darren, good to know. I think in some other countries...

Re: Is there a difference betweeen RS & '73-'77 rear quarter

Porsche Classic do actually reproduce the RS rear wing in thinner gauge steel with correct welded on arches. Takes an additional 30 hours to produce, so wont be cheap ££££. Could be worth it though for an original RS. https://www.porsche.com/international/accessoriesandservice/classic/genuineparts/p...

Re: Is there a difference betweeen RS & '73-'77 rear quarter

The original rear wings on the '73RS and early 1974 Carrera 2.7 had welded on flares with a different profile to the later wings which were produced with the flares incorporated. The edge section on the RS flare tapered to be thicker at the top whereas the later profile had a constant thickness. If ...

HI Chevy thanks for all the history file you've provided, it's really appreciated. Do you have any more photo's from the time of your ownership ? I'm trying to find out if the tail is original as it doesn't have a front skirt & did it have fogs, front & or rear ? It has a fog pull switch on...
