Re: Giroflex Championship 1986

Great thread, brings back some memories. I’ll try to dig out some old albums from when I worked at Autofarm, but here’s a scan from Donington in c.1986 when Tiff Needell was guest driver in the Giroflex car. After a poor start from pole, he cut through to win convincingly. https://live.staticflickr....

The Stirling Moss Memorial was a great race between the leading E-Types to end the day, but such a shame to see the damage earlier.

1993 964. Thought it looked good value at £1,395.00 and only 45 miles on the clock. One double take later and I think I'll give it a miss. :) https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202007251680060?onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&postcode=hg32jq&mode...

Re: Ferrari 348...

Back in the late 90s I delivered a bunch of LHD sports cars from Germany for a local trader here. Most were 964s, but a few 348 too. While all 964s felt virtually identical to drive and bulletproof, the 348s varied wildly which we put down to build quality. Each time we flew over with a 348 and some...

Re: Dicky Meaden and a 2.7 RS on the track!

Yes, Josh is a very significant player in this game of ours. I watched him run the hills in the late 80s in the 3.5 litre to win the Midlamd Championship, thus the 911 in my life, and the 30 years hillclimbing as a result. He has a lot to answer for! :) That he does  His old 3.5 was a great ca...

Re: Dicky Meaden and a 2.7 RS on the track!

It’s a great video, just watched it again thanks. That looks a great venue to explore the limits too. Most of my 911 track time has been at Goodwood (mostly thanks to Robert B) and while I love driving there, the relative lack of run-off has always encouraged prudence. I also have Josh Sadler to tha...

Re: Garage clear out

Hi, I’m interested in your 2-in, 2-out exhausts. Are the exits spaced to match the overriders, or closer like the older rally exhausts?
Also any idea of noise, as I’d hope to still pass the Goodwood static noise test (3.0SC on SSIs, still with CIS) ? Thanks
