Re: Happy days, 911S is alive!
I personally would't use a wevo shifter. Short shifters move the pivot point of the gearstick and put more strain on the components. Changing the bushes with fresh genuine Porsche bushes will improve precision, as will getting the gearbox linkage adjusted by someone who knows a lot about 915 gearbox...

Re: Window frame removal
I replaced my front window trim. Much easier and probably cheaper than getting them replaced. My Front window frames were re-anodised by Nick: http://www.early911.co.uk/html/alloy_trim.html. However, the screw thread inserts in the frame are steel which the anodising process dissolved. The inserts w...

Re: opinions about chopping off heat exchangers
There is a special tool to remove the heat exchanger nuts which goes though the gaps in the heat exchangers.... but if you're going to bin the heat exchangers anyway, then you may as well cut them off and put some heat on the nuts & studs to make them easier to remove.
Good luck!

Re: Classic Autowerks ‘Ultimate Shift Rod Bushing’
I installed my shift rod bearing a few weeks ago. Despite lots of lubrication the shifting was a lot stiffer than the bearing I replaced. Also I found that i was no longer able to engage second gear despite many attempts to adjust the linkage at the rear of the shaft. I also replaced the original Po...

Re: 70T rolling resto / right date
After a couple of months of driving the rear suspension set up is great. No squeaks and a firm but comfortable ride. My steering wobble became really bad around 70 mph, so I decided to replace the ball joints. Ball joint 1 was a bit of a nightmare, but I learnt a lot and decided to make a youtube vi...

Julian Reap (Reap automotive) did all my guages. I think he has quite a backlog, but did a great job.

Re: '73 T wiper function questions
FYI - You might find my youtube video useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiYcRqoffDw. Its for a 70T, so includes intermittent, but covers the wiper topic quite broadly.

Re: 2.2 T fuel pipes
This is the return line from the fuel pump back to the engine presumably (with the fuel pump just next to the fuel tank) as there is no return line from the engine back to the fuel tank on a 70T.

Re: '73 T wiper function questions
My 70T has intermittent wipers. I believe thy discontinued intermittent as it unreliable. However, it works fine on my car. The parking side can easily be changed (check out the Wayne Dempsey 101 projects for the Porsche 911). However, they should park on the drivers side. It was done that way to cl...

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod
Interesting reading. My new ball joints together with their installation kit that includes the pins just arrived from Elephant racing. I hope they fit better than the Design911 ones..... I see Design911 do 'OE Match' parts front ball joint cotter pins. Are those the ones to avoid?
