Re: Porsche ranked least reliable car
My ex Dem 718 was a nightmare. Turbo failed, heater fan failed (VW problem for years) battery failed, stone chips all down each side in a year. Porsche didn’t fit a protective coating, software stopped demisting of driver’s side window, indicator switch failed etc. I got so fed up with it I went ba...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Like its owner my 981 is getting old, although it does have on 16,000 miles on its odometer. Winter has upset it and the battery died leaving me to fathom out how to open the bonnet and then lift out and extremely heavy battery. I got help. I phoned Porsche for a quote. £320 and a 2 year guarantee. ...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Thought it might’ve of interest, it’s not rusty because it live in Portugal and was the stored for 20years in Switzerland, but it’s done 95,000 miles and needed suspension, brakes and fuel injection overhauls as well as water pump, belts and hoses. It’s nearly there and great fun to drive and ride in.

Re: 1925cc converston
I’ve an AA piston1725cc conversion on both of my engines. One is an SC and the other a 75bhp version, but with the SC crank and Cam. All on Chinese or German Solexes. The result is a lovely, smooth, flexible, free revving engine that needs a higher top gear far more than more power. If I were to spe...

My lovely 981S has only done 16,000 miles https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52440505622_78ee4ef4ff_c_d.jpg And Alan’s 964, we’ve been friends for over fifty years and since he had a 2.4 911T, which sadly went terribly rusty rather quickly. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52441462930_c87e64007f...

Re: Boxster goes to France
Boxster are the perfect touring car, glad you had a great time. I envy you, haven’t been abroad since I did the Spanish mountains in 2119 in the 718.
I do recommend the Alps, Pyrenees of the mountains in Spain. The near perfect handling of Boxster comes into its own.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Off to The Classic Motor Hub for Porsche gathering, mostly Macans, a few impact bumper 911s, an outlaw 356A and my C. About 20 miles in either direction on lovely empty country lanes going and dodging stop start SUVs and large Audis coming back. The Stroud Ciren A419 having been closed. I really enj...
