Re: 964 C2 - Rolling Resto
I’m no 964 expert but a good friend here (Connecticut, USA) rebuilt his recently and there were issues with starting. He was posting on the 964 section of Rennlist. Tons of 964 help there. Hope that helps. John

Excellent project ... the kind of thing we only seem to find here on DDK.
The freight bill on getting that whole floor to NZ must have been significant in and of itself?

Re: The Manhattan Project
Agree with Graham that getting your home alignment gear all leveled out is half the battle. I made wooden boxes, about 12" x 12" x 24", then made little leveling feet in each corner: obsession! Learned a great substitute on Pelican for slip plates: big Ziploc bags. Effective.

I assume I wasn't alone making the Airfix T-35 and Matchbox T-59 kits as a sproggins in the late 70's?

That traction engine is beyond words. I've had my Mamod since 1975.
Those steel trailing arms: are they old arms receiving new hubs/flanges/ends, or are they 100% new? If the latter, how are those tapering tubes made ... cast, or rolled sheet formed and welded?
Thanks in advance, John

Since I'm across the water I don't know the inner workings of DDK, as a club, and whether you fellows maintain any shared equipment? If yes, a SmartStrings kit and a set of digital scales would be wonderful for those who'd like to set, monitor and tweak their 911/12/14's suspension and steering sett...

Re: 1972 Honda CB175 Super Sport restoration
Another lovely project to follow along. I worked for American Honda Motor Co., Inc as a young guy from 90 to 97, a time when the epic spirit of Soichiro Honda was still relatively alive in the products, both cars and bikes, and in how we all approached our business each day. According to friends sti...

I've loved the Fiat 131 design since I was a kid; still amazing to me how a basic three-box saloon (or its two door version) can be so appealing. The 128 in full rally gear was similarly cool. Those Italians ....

Re: Wot, not another '79 Targa resto thread
Peter, I'm no pro. While I realize your single stage urethane is catalyzed, I'm wondering if, while it's still relatively fresh, a blend could be attempted with reasonable odds of success and no ill-effects. I've seen a product used (special solvent) that you spray around the edge of your blend zone...

So you have to repaint the whole panel or can you spot repair that corner ... same batch of paint, so no matching worries?

Slightly rich is much safer than slightly lean, just like the old saying that a (slightly) loose valve is a happy valve. John
