Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........

very nice. I enjoyed mine , which was DMS modded to 520 bhp . Stupidly quick and very capable. Could pass groups of cars in one squirt. Brakes werent good enough for the power though and ultimately once the acceleration novelty wore off a bit soulless and relatively boring on the country roads. Thi...

Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........

That left hand side rear bumper does indeed look rather awkward. There is a u toober who is currently getting his 912 restored at Rindt (TGE tv) and when he does a walk round of their premises their is a row of painted shells and they look absolutely stunning on the tv! Maybe not when you see them ...

No idea what this would cost but I wouldn’t be happy with the panel fit and shut lines or am I picky?

The back end looks like it’s had a stroke!

Re: Non-Porsche for sale of the day

in actuality IMO it’s genuinely priceless. I live near Duxford and have met people who look after airworthy ones, take them to bits to ship them around the world for air shows, that sort of thing. Listening to the work involved I suspect the purchase price is just the beginning. I personally wouldn...

Re: Boxster Insurance renewal increase!

All of our cars both toys ( on classic policies with agreed valuations) and dailies have seen a slight decrease this year. Go figure?

Personally I would not accept that degree of increase but a quick search of the comparison sites should give you a better idea..

Re: Megaphonics 23 | 5th Anniversary Edition

Arrived about 12.15 and drive past a couple of queue casualties:( No queues though as they obviously were not scanning tickets. I really enjoyed the vibe and the array of stunning air cooled cars was a sight to behold. Some of the builds got me thinking I’m going to sell all my cars and build someth...

Re: Carrera 3.2 continued emissions / idle misery...

My 1986 3.2 Carrera has a CO2 warm idle of 0.70…the limit is 4.50. The HC ppm VOL is 37 out of a 1200 limit. It’s been like that for years but I’ve never really questioned whether that’s good or not? I always make sure it’s fully up to temperature prior to the MOT though. I used to have a V12 BMW 8 ...

Re: Rust treatment before paint?

I’m no expert but wouldn’t you Stabilise/Convert if not getting down to fresh metal as it has to react to the rust?

But if fresh metal you just prime and repaint?

Re: Wheel cleaning

Hi All I know this might sound silly but when I had my Fuchs reanodised I was told NOT to use wheelcleaner but instead use a mild solution of baby shampoo which is ph neutral That's what I used and no issues whatsoever Yep. Unless you leave your wheels for weeks on end….once clean, polished and coa...

Re: Wheel cleaning

You need to be very careful on bare aluminium wheels. Nothing aggressive at all, keep them polished and they should be easy to keep on top of.

The best Polish is this.
