Re: 3.2 Carrera UK emissions fail

Hunting at idle and (bizarrely) high emissions can also be caused by an air leak. From what I read there's some gubbins in there that reacts to a weak tickover and prevents the engine from stalling - so it stands to reason that's the thing that could cause high emissions. Re: 3.2 Carrera UK emissions fail

It could just be burning off some oil. What’s the mileage / has it been rebuilt / when was the oil last changed or topped up and did the person who did it know how to do it on a 911? If it’s just been sat or is a smidge overfilled a proper hour’s hard drive might solve it. Thanks for the suggestion...

3.2 Carrera UK emissions fail

I just imported a 3.2 Carrera from Jersey where there's no MOT and on its first MOT in the UK the CO emissions are way too high. I asked if this is just on idle and they said "no" but I'm not taking that as gospel. What's the protocol for dealing with this? On another note the engine somet...

Re: Hello everyone!

The car looks great! Congratulations on eventually getting through the DVLA process - it has been a pain for the last two years, with understaffing, Covid shutdowns and then, as you say, strikes. Things are still far from normal, so it's great that you can finally enjoy the car. Sand Beige looks fa...

Any advice on stripping Fuchs wheels?

Hi, I'm a total noob in this regard. Anyhow, I've bought a restomod with five all black genuine Fuchs wheels. I'n no fan of all black wheels and I want to up the ~chrome (polished metal) on the car generally. What's the best way to approach de-painting the Fuchs, or would you advise against doing so...

Are headlight parts available?

I bought some original RHD headlights to go into my 1970 911T US import, but one of them has a couple of missing parts - are any of these available? They're both from the same side and they're the mountings either side of the internal reflector. Firstly, a long bolt whose centre section is a spring ...

Re: Dashboard & Door Pulls RHD repros

If you have time available, there's a video on YouTube of an original dash being filled and recovered in vinyl. It looked pretty good in the end but I don't know how long it lasted. If I treied it, I think I'd cover with grp to hold it all together first. But I'd probably just buy new to be fair as ...

Re: New 1970 911T member - and questions

^ This. Happy to come over to Lichfield and look over it with you and offer some thoughts if you decide to keep it as it is for now. Kings Lynn is a bit far! :) That's a really kind offer - but then I wouldn't get to drive it anywhere!! Maybe we meet up half way :) Most likely I'll get it roadworth...
