Do you really mean American Racing? If they have AEW stamped inside, they are an 'American Eagle' and I could help you with 3 of 6x15 in quite good condition.

Re: Wtb 7/71 steering wheel and oil cap
I have an 8/71 leather 40 cm wheel 901.347.081.15 with elevated hub, which I believe was an option for 911 T/E/S to 1972, if that is of interest?

Re: Insurance renewal - G series 3.2
If you have several cars including a classic 911, you might want to try Classic Insurance Services (www.classicinsuranceservices.co.uk), whom I and several of my friends have found very competitive and include extras such as being covered to drive other people's cars comprehensively, not just 3rd pa...

Re: Parts for FIA 1972 2.4S Race Car
Always amusing when racers have a go at series that will not allow the car they want to race into it. The argument above is perfectly logical and before you ask, I also tried to get a 2.7RS into the HSCC 70s Roadsports. Let me explain for those that do not race. Club motorsport is run by committees,...

Re: Looking for 1970-1973 base to build a 1970's race car
But what is the value of a 'genuine' RS engine compared to a 'replica' when the original chassis 0394 has been destroyed, so no longer exists?

Re: Looking for 1970-1973 base to build a 1970's race car
With regard to the white RS replica above that remained unsold, it was quite common for targas to be converted to coupes for racing in the early 90s as they had extra body stiffening. Not many race cars from the Porsche Club Championship in the early 90s actually survived to this day - too many majo...

Re: Tyre size for a 76 narrow body
I used to race a 2.4E on 205x50 P Zero C on 7" Fuchs with no problem and some raced on 225x50 on the rear but probably rolled the arches. The cars were run low on 45mm ground clearance from what I remember. Not sure about the earlier comment on handling - it all depends on what you want and how...

Re: Rear wheel bearing change
Sorry, may have caused some confusion with definitions, It is the trailing arm itself that wears over time. I have just had to have a steel trailing arm machined to put in an oversize bearing and I know the same happens with the later alloy arms. Changing the wheel bearing in situ is relatively stra...

Re: Rear wheel bearing change
Not wanting to state the obvious but measure the hub carefully before pressing in the new wheel bearing, They do wear over time, which causes the slight play you may now be getting. If so, you are into oversize and expensive bearings and machining the hub. You might be better just living with the pl...
