Re: new 911

It would be interesting to see a pre-73 911 side by side with the new 991. Regards, I don't have a picture of a 991, but I do have a 997 next to a 911R... The newer cars certainly are much bigger... :) https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-P6_OG2RwfZQ/Tuh6A-lsSSI/AAAAAAAADfQ/YxryDboCdeI/w534-h399-k/99...

Re: 912 not starting

Out of interest, I now tend to keep my car hooked up to a trickle charger when it's not in use. If you don't have a power source, I've found in the past that the solar chargers from Maplins have provided enough current to keep the battery topped up.

Re: 912 not starting

Hi Richard, As Smallspeed has said, a clicking from the solenoid has been a symptom of a flat/dead battery in my experience. My problems stemmed from an alarm/immobiliser causing a continuous drain. The worst place this has happened was in the middle of one of the large roundabouts at Elephant and C...

Re: Old Bike trip

Hi Adam, If you've never been, a trip cross country to Verralls in Handcross is very worthwhile. They're a little mews/courtyard concern selling only specialist bikes. They have a '59 Matchless in stock, too! http://www.verralls.com/ Beware however, they have a reputation as THE most expensive plac...

Re: Old Bike trip

Really enjoyed reading through this (and I'm not really into bikes) - a really excellent set of pictures and commentary. My mum recently found a picture of my dad on a motorcycle which looks as though its from a similar era, but we don't have any information on what type of bike it is. My dad sadly ...

Re: Rennsport pictures ...

All, Apologies if this has already been posted, but I've not seen it! A friend just sent me this facebook link with some excellent pictures from the event from Porsche: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150396321592668.376591.53855227667&type=1 https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hpho...

Re: Camera for beginners ?

Thanks Keith - that looks a much better price than the official one. I've got a similar case for an old Zenit-e, so am use to the hassle of removing/reattaching it.

Any further recommendations from DDK'ers on soft cases like Lowe Pro, that sort of thing is also appreciated.

Cheers!

Re: Camera for beginners ?

Apologies for resurrecting this thread, but with so many Panasonic LX3 & LX5 users on this site, I wanted to make the most of your experiences! I'm about to buy an LX5, and am after some recommendations on a case for it. I don't want to spend a fortune (the official Panasonic case seems to be £6...

Agreed - definitely an entertaining post Paul!

Glad you've got them back in one piece and you are fairly pleased with the end result. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Re: Speedy Cables - a users experience

5x gauges @ £100 per gauge = £500+VAT

Back with you within 5 working days.

Think I might be a bit heavy on the price, as I reckon it depends whether it was just a bit of spit and polish or a full refurb, but oh well :)

Re: Gulf Blue & Fantastic !!

This looks ace, there aren't many cars that would tempt me away from my '12 (ok, '73 S's and RS's excluded :)), but this on the other hand... As Gary said, looks like very good value.
