Holes in the boot area 70E?
Hi all In front of the heater fan motor in the boot area is a hole (By the motor plug) . Does anyone know what this is for and if not used should it be covered up with something? There is also a hole on the RH side halfway down which is also a bit of a mystery? https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4465/38...

Re: engine yoke
Hi Ian In my experience the problem with shipping is how the item is described and 'valued' by the seller. Also all of this needs to be very accurately documented on the correct forms and displayed with the shipped parcel so it clears customs without any hold ups. If below a certain value the import...

Rear engine grille 1970 targa fitment
Hi all
Has anyone got a picture of the arrangement of the fixing bolts, spacers and retaining nuts that hold the rear engine grille in place. It's a 5 spoke grille and I have several metal spacer tubes that look a bit out of place if fitted on the inside.
Many thanks
Richard

Re: engine yoke
I bought one of these from the States. The seller was very helpful with importing and Item is very well made and an identical copy of the factory item I have been told.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-356-911-912-930-914-Forged-Engine-Stand-Holding-Fixture-Yoke-Red-/252165320174?hash=item3ab6396d...

Re: To home blast or not to blast
Blasting is too messy for me. I've had two cars dipped at Envirostrip and getting a completely clean rust free shell to work on is a major plus in my book. If you go down that route though be careful as sometimes the seams can bleed chemicals that might react unfavourably with the paint finish. You ...

1970 Targa trim around inner front screen apperture
Hi All Has any one go a late 1970 Targa that they could take some photo's of the trimming around the front screen on the inside? When I took the car apart I failed to photo this area and can't remember if it's vinyl covered all the way around the inside or not? I don't want to put the dash and scree...

Re: Electrical madness: wiring 911 2,2 T my 1970
Hi Max What's the problem with the wipers etc? If I remember there is a bit of an overlap with regard to colours around the 70/71 age. When I did mine (late 70e) I did quite a lot of cross referencing between 70 and 71 wiring diagrams. The motor was a bit confusing but the terminals are numbered if ...

Re: texture paint for dash pad
Hi Dean You won't get a great original match with texture aerosols. They are designed more for plastic bumpers and small areas that you can blend into the original finnish. If you can't afford to get the dash professionally recovered there are DIY covers that might work better than textured paint. I...

I did see a YouTube demo for removing it once. Not ideal in the large quantities most of us would need to fill up with though.

Re: Ceramic car coating
Hi mike Not sure what colour your shell is going to be or is? In my experience these coatings are ok to protect your modern every day hack against the constant abrasion they suffer from dust and car washes with minimal maintenance but beware especially with dark colours. If you decide to get the car...

Did Barry use/keep the rear of the tunnel where the pipes and wire feed from inside the car? If he did and you done need it might be interested.
