Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
I'll take that as a compliment Mike, there's a polished stainless sill plate just there, catching the light, but if that's all you can nitpick about a brand new car, designed & built by a hand full of passionate car enthusiasts in a shed; then I'm very happy

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Here's an exclusive image from Saturday Chassis 002-004.JPG And an independent film here, I say "independent" as neither the film maker or Adam (Jaguar & Aston factory test driver & Racing instructor for some BIG names) were given access to the Comet with NO information or prejudic...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
. What is it ? Is it 'life size' or a scale model ? Looks like it's been made up from parts of at least 3 different cars ... . That was actually a wood frame & foam BUCK, from which our body was molded. It was dressed up for a photoshoot about 2 years ago, which is why the windows are just refl...

Re: Sea air
Hi Ralph, I live about 500m from the sea. You need to ensure the garage is sealed well, the salt air is a killer in the winter or periods of continued damp. One issue I found was having a block paved drive, the salt seeps up through it. Even the Fishbourne Roman palace museum down the road thats abo...

Re: How not to drive your Porsche
I put mine in the hedge bottom on Saturday evening. Missed another car by a few inches, then missed a tree and it luckily stopped on the dirt verge before plunging down into a field. All in slow motion at low speed. Needed passer by to give it a shove as it had grounded on the dirt. Police even slo...

Re: Timber frame garage: Natural Insulation
You can’t go far wrong with Insulated building or industrial refrigeration panels. These are steel clad plasticoat kingspan filled construction panels. I’ve designed & built things using them many, many times on structures including deep freeze test chambers for Jaguar, climate controlled Veneer...

Graham, yes, that was a mock up last year at NEC. That particular car, has been reworked and is now in L.A. USA, undergoing some "exciting" EV development that I can tell you about at the weekend

Re: 21st Century Outlaw 997 Project
Thanks KS, I am truly humbled by the skills found in the restoration thread section of DDK and some of the things that we can all achieve by working as a team. This time last year at Dowsetts we scratch built a homage to Fangio's winning Alfa, in aid of Harrisons Fund. A little lad with muscular Dys...

Re: 21st Century Outlaw 997 Project
Thanks for all the kind words, it is much appreciated :) I'd hoped to get further on this year but all of my spare time outside of work has been taken up by another project. A project I can now share with fellow DDKr's I have been working with my good friend Ant Anstead on a few projects since helpi...

Re: 21st Century Outlaw 997 Project
Aha, yes. that's already on the cards. I purchased a used 997 front bumper at the same time as the rear last year to cut up & use as a base-guide in the same way as I did the rear It's funny now the projects underway, the rear just looks retro Outlaw "right" to me, which makes the fron...
