Re: 3.0 in a 70T
External oil cooler lines fitted, although i won't connect them to the 2.2 engine. http://i1328.photobucket.com/albums/w535/paul_norris1/imagejpg1_zpsa19d862e.jpg DanG, You will need to modify the flanges to fit the existing wheel shafts apparently. However, my car already had that done when i bough...

Re: 3.0 in a 70T
Distributor arrived from Elf Ignition. Very pretty! So i fitted it, set the valves and fitted the valve covers. I plan to fit the external oil cooler this week if a couple of parts arrive. http://i1328.photobucket.com/albums/w535/paul_norris1/imagejpg1_zps8d13875c.jpg http://i1328.photobucket.com/al...

Re: 3.0 in a 70T
Put the cam covers and oil lines on. I refitted the intermediate shaft cover as the guy i bought the engine off put a bolt on rather than a stud. I also fitted the oil return tunes. Even with the engine out that was a pig of a job. Not much more i can do now until the distributor arrives back from E...

Re: 3.0 in a 70T
A big box of parts arrived from Pelican this week (amazing that its cheaper to buy parts from the US, pay shipping and duty and its still cheaper than buying in Europe). Lightweight flywheel installed today, induction and PMO carbs ordered, just waiting for some brackets before i can fit the externa...

Re: Where to buy PMO Carbs?
Carbs ordered. I spoke to Richard at PMO, but eventually ordered them from Jean Buser in France.

Where to buy PMO Carbs?
All, I'm after a complete set of PMO carbs. I thought this would be pretty easy as there are plenty of dealers listed on the PMO website. However, it appears that some will only supply and fit, others are no longer dealing with them and yet others have not been too cooperative. I am in Poland, so my...

Re: 2L enigne to tune or replace... that is the question
I've bought an elf ignition system. The problem is that the CDI from the 70 engine has different connections and the 79 distributor isnt compatible with PMO carbs without a reprofile, so elf ignition will sort all this out. Obviously i will keep all the original parts.

Re: 2L enigne to tune or replace... that is the question
I decided to go for the 3.0 SC engine swap for my 2.2T and keep the original matching numbers engine intact. The cost creeps up pretty quickly if you want to backdate the exhaust, fit PMO carbs, new ignition and external oil cooler as i'm doing. By the time i've finished and beautified the engine a b...

Re: 3.0 in a 70T
Yep. All DIY.... Although i do have a handy local mechanic in case of a disaster which will be required for a final tune up. I reassembled the fan, alternator and housing today. All is well, it spins fine without fouling on the housing.

Re: 3.0 in a 70T
Got some parts back from being refurbished. I asked for them to be cleaned and for the fan and valve covers to be powder coated. However, they powder coated everything (a result of my poor Polish). The alternator has been completely rewound and had the bearings replaced. The also powder coated the e...

Re: Ignition Question ?
Is this similar to this one? http://elf-ignition.de/en/dynamic/professional.html. I am in the process of fitting a 3.0SC engine to my 70T and will replace the CIS system with PMO carbs (I've read lots about the Triumph ITB alternative and have decided to go with carbs rather than EFI). Anyway, I als...
