Re: LYY 911D The First RHD 911S Chassis no. 305328

John as discussed if you go to page one, click on chrisgcr you can direct message him via DDK. He said he had a bunch of paperwork relating to the car. I think he didn't want to hand it over for nothing!! If he's not reading his DM's on here I'd bet this is him: http://gcrcentral.co.uk/?page_id=62 ...

Re: LYY 911D The First RHD 911S Chassis no. 305328

Thanks to Rob for his DM. Sharing with him what I shared there: the 67 S never went to the Shorade shop, not to the best of my knowledge. Likewise LLY 911D wasn’t originally red. It was painted red at some point. It was 6804 light ivory. Also, my father bought a donor car for the project (from advic...

Re: R.I.P. John and Judith Woodget

Fellow DDK'ers, it is my very sad duty to bring you news of the deaths of John and Judith Woodget, following a road accident in July. We knew John on here as Spillers, the owner of an ambitious '67S restoration project. They were a couple that were truly at the heart of their community, and very mu...

Re: LYY 911D Restoration

Hi - this is one of John's children. Just checking on the thread to see if the new owner provided any updates. To ensure the proper care and attention was paid to the vehicle the family parted ways with the car and donor in 2017 to a Porsche enthusiast who has restored multiple old Porsches. Unfortu...

Re: 66 chassis number search

My 911S is 305328 and registered in August 1966 (other numbers suggest build mid 1966) so the range you are searching for could be earlier - unless there is a difference between the 911 and the 911S

Re: LYY 911D Restoration

The Chrome ring was very delicate. Jonathan hand sanded it and found he could get it into good enough condition to rechrome it without the retaining tabs being compromised: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7513/15698278894_ebb84e82d4_b.jpg [/url] then using a 3d printer he formed a backing piece to re...

Re: LYY 911D Restoration

Thanks to Darren (Darren65), Mike (210bhp) and murph2309 for steering me to Jonathan Parr. He took on this basket case of a steering wheel. I am still astonished at what he accomplished. I will let the pictures tell the story. Jonathan found a similar wheel to provide the leather. He recovered the o...

Re: 1955 Pre A Speedster

Small blue car is the answer.

But that was the problem. I got a convertible Saab 93 and it was a beguiling "Cerulian" blue!
And everything was easier!

I got to drive the Chesil to LeMans and it was fun. Much more fun than a Roller!

But 250 grand!!!!!!!!!! Wow

1955 Pre A Speedster

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/ ... id=1738987

What is this worth?

I sold the wifes Chesil speedster with a 914 engine last year and miss the fun. Could this be a fun way back to 356?

356A Restoration opportunity for somebody

If I were not doing LYY 911D I would be sorely tempted by this.

Anyone know anything about the car? Seem like precious little information

Re: LYY 911D Restoration

Yes needs replacement leather so considering options. It needs to be thin and pretty smooth. Used leather would be best. Have discussed with Jonathan Parr who has been very helpfull.
