Re: 912 sound insulation
I have a 1968, 1969 year model 912 Targa, and last year I did exactly as you have done. Being a Targa I was worried that water may have got in past the usual seals. I was a devil to get off (used a heat gun) and the rear seat area was spotless! not a trace of rust. It is a very hard bitumen based su...

Re: Putting vynal decals on fibre glass body?
Be careful with carb cleaner, especially around plastics, it can make it cloudy and melt the surface. Should be OK with fibre glass resin, but just check and area first. Spray it on a clear piece of plastic and see what it does to it! Made the mistake once of cleaning a set of dials, which I thought...

Re: URGENT HELP AND ADVICE NEEDED.GOT RIPPED OFF
Yes saw the PDf, that was what came up on a search of the bank account details. Hanover House where the business is based seems to be a 'virtual' office, in that the address is just rented out, which seems a bit suspicious, in this day and age? Their Twitter account seems very active with weddings t...

Try this link, the account has the same IBAN number which should be unique to an individual account, may put you on the right track, or could just be another con? Might be worth giving them a ring on the phone and see if you recognise the voice http://www.weddingplanningacademy.co.uk/assets/useruplo...

Re: O/T - anyone had any experience with Audi A2s?
Have had 2 a 1.4 TDi and a 1.6 FSi To be honest preferred the TDi to the FSi, you always seemed to be changing gear in the petrol version. Did some really long journeys, over 300 miles and found the seats very comfortable, and supportive. I am 6' 4" and have plenty of room. It is a very upright...

Re: O.T. Ovlov woes.
If your car has a centre diff to transfer the torque from front to rear, dependant on driving conditions, it could be the centre UJ. I assume it has a torque biasing centre diff, mechanical or oil that identifies the slip, and tries to balance out the drive? If it is a straight forward propshaft it ...

Re: 1973 RHD targa
Was going to go to Silverstone Auctions to bid on this Targa when it was suddenly removed from their site.
I e-mailed Silverstone Auctions to find out why, and they replied it had an 'engine issue' and had been withdrawn from sale
I now know why, it was sold before it ever got there.

The serial number can be recovered quite easily, if you know what you are doing. The stamping process actually disfigures the metal, and 'stresses it' It goes deeper than just grinding it off. Without going into details, there is a process to recover it. It is only likely to become an issue, if it i...
