Re: New Car Woes - 1

Just read through the entire tread, proper bodge job that and not what one would expect from a reputable shop. Easy to say afterwards but as some has already pointed out, the pipe(s) really have to be replaced. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Re: Winter refresh 2.2T 1971

Thanks John, can't wait to see yours in the new paint. Mine's not as good as yours and several other ground up restos on here but yes I'm well pleased with the paint job from DC coachworks, especially the blocking, and considering that the starting point was far from perfect and that we agreed on do...

Winter refresh 2.2T 1971

So I kind of lost the mojo when scraping the right hand against the trailer, stuffed the car in the garage after the safety inspection and ignored all thoughts about getting it fixed for some 3 months… more importantly it’s been sorted to a good standard now, just collected from the painter today.

Re: Hockey puck steering wheel centre

Jonny

I got my repro one from Ramon Gellida over on the early s registry, paid USD 230 inc. shipping to Swissy so a bit less than the stuff you've found.

Quality seems ok but the appearance is more matt than an original puck (machined alu which has been painted).

Cheers, Magnus

Re: Winter refresh 2.2T 1971

Passed the safety inspection with flying colours, as it’s registered as a classic it’ll be another 6-7 years until it’s time for the next one. Mechanically the car feels pretty good, it’s long time since I last drove it but I imagine it feels stiffer with its new structure welded in. Still a few cos...

Re: SSI Heater Flaps

I've got those stainless ones on mine since a few years, quality and fit seemed fine but perhaps not the right product for the 100% original resto project.

Re: Winter refresh 2.2T 1971

Painted the original silencer in zink primer and fitted it, also repositioned the rear bumper trims whilst I were at it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210330/020ea7b99b58cd219695581c26b4b5da.jpg Then replaced the fabric braided fuel lines in the engine bay with standard non braided items for pe...
