Ride height advice
Hi All, Finally put my 71 s on its wheels, many many years after the project first started :-) Anyway as might be expected the ride height isnt quite right. It doesn't have an interior, spare wheel, front or rear screen in or much petrol in it so the front I am not so worried about but back looks a ...

Sill trim end caps
Hi All, I am trying to fit the S sill trims along the outside of the sill. The main straight bit is ok but I have some Dansk end caps and the fitment is very poor. I cant find any details of pictures online of how well (or otherwise) they fit. I think the reality is that I will need to order the Por...

1983 3.2 Targa sport
Hi All, My father in law has a 1983 (A reg) 3.2 Targa sport which he is thinking of selling as he doesnt use it. He has had it about 20 years, he got resprayed by the local Morgan garage about 4 years ago. I had it last Autumn as it wasnt starting. I had the fuel drained, and replaced. Then identifi...

Re: Agreed value changes: just a personal experience.
Yes it was the scenario that stichill99 says, so it was £90k, I wanted to insure for £80k. They said if it was written off and they thought it was worth £85k, i would get £80k - £5k which it was underinsured for = £75k.
I couldn't get my head around that

Re: Agreed value changes: just a personal experience.
Hi Graham, I had a weird conversation with my insurance company last year over this (Marsh) on my 993TT. They said if I dropped the value to less that what they considered to be fair value, then they would penalise me if they paid out by reducing the amount they would pay by the amount it was underi...

993 RS https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1995-porsche-911-993-carrera-rs-1#comments Its certainly looking like it will be very much cheaper than the RS from the Leonard collection, even though its not yellow it is still a pretty looking car and on my bucket list (and will probably stay there!). I ...

Re: Head works
Hi Keith,
Yes thanks, know him well, helped him with a few bits for the 912 and did a lot of set up for it when I had it running on 40s before I went fuel injection. I tend to build my own engines though so didnt know what other experience was out there,
Cheers

Head works
Hi All, Does anyone have any recommendations on someone to do a porting and 3 angle valve seat job for some type 4 head. I have used stateside in the past but he seems to only want to sell some new heads as the basis for the work and there would not be much change from £2.5k. Its for a type 4 engine...

Re: Manuall throttle on 71s
Hi Both,
Sorry thinking through it and just looking at the car a few minutes ago the plastic lever needs to go forward, That makes it a whole lot easier as the big hole in the tunnel then lines up with the piece you screw onto the throttle rod. I think I will be sort when I do that!
Thanks
Roger

Re: Manuall throttle on 71s
Hi Both, Thanks, the plastic bit arm is a new porsche part so that should be ok. The linkage is all ok, it seems to be all connected and working fine from the pedal. I was wondering about this since I posted it. I have the plastic arm going backwards from the handbrake so it is pulling on the thrott...

Manuall throttle on 71s
Hi All, I am trying to put the handbrake lever in and get the plastic arm of the manual throttle lever to line up onto the throttle metal rod that runs through the tunnel. I can just about get it on but it comes off it feels like that there maybe a couple of causes: 1) The throttle linkage is too ha...
