Andy is correct, the 964 screen is slightly bigger but will fit with a 964 screen rubber.

Re: Positive Heads-Up for parts supplier
Excellent news Graham.
I had wondered why you hadn't posted a report from the meeting.
Good luck with the swap.

Re: Atf auto fluid in a 914 gearbox?
Quite a few older gearboxes use ATF. Apparently it's something to do with the compatibility of the oil with the material of the synchro hubs. Ford Capri, Cortina and Escort gearboxes all used it from the factory and I have heard about using ATF in Landrover gearboxes. I don't think it would work wel...

Re: opinions about chopping off heat exchangers
To be 100% certain of getting the barrel nuts off, as well as the normal nuts, you really need an oxy/acetylene torch and get them up to yellow heat. Otherwise there's always a chance that a stud will break or a nut will round off. You need to be careful not to burn through an oil return tube though...

Re: Did you sell me a 993 intake system at the DDK auto jumble?
I have just looked through the photos and I'll try and answer your questions. 1st photo. I don't know the purpose of the silver round thing but it's not an open hole to the throttle body or anywhere else so nothing to worry about. The black thing is a vacuum solenoid that operates the resonance flap...

Upper rear suspension crossmember wanted
I need an upper rear suspension crossmember for a 73 onwards car.
The crossmember that the rear dampers bolt to.
Do any of you guys have one tucked away under a bench, or in a
cupboard?
Thanks in advance.

Yes please!
I'm off to Dakar (Senegal) next month on my Yamaha T7 Tenere.
It's an organised rally loosely following the route of the original Dakar from the late 80s
when the rally went through Morocco rather than Algeria.
Was your trip invite only?
