Re: Buyer beware...

Tested the amazon loctite on a M16 capscrew and nut overnight and needed plenty of torque and swing on it to remove it this morning so happy with the Amazon stuff.

Re: Buyer beware...

Just bought some 243 from Amazon and all looks genuine, same bottle as before with all dates BB and manufactured date.
Can't imagine Amazon selling fakes but who knows.

Re: 3.2 Carrera will not start

Get some Esso 99 Supreme in that tank and take it a good run to blast the fuel system through.
Don't be putting any of that Ethanol rubbish in.

If there is no spark it will be flywheel crank sensor.

Brazing a piece in would be my option, I know a guy who'd help you if you struggle but based up my way in Rotherham.
Does a lot of fabrication work for us and restores classic cars in his free time.

hot66 wrote:what makes you think you need to step up to 60W from 50 ?
Only that I see Porsches own brand classic oils are recommending 10W60 for these model engines.
You just sticking with the usual Valvoline 20W50 James?
Just putting a bulk order in for the usual Autumn / Winter oil and filter changes.

Another oil thread

After years of running 10w40 Magnatec in SC, 3.2 Carrera and 964 with no problems, I made the switch to Valvoline VR1 20w50 a year or so and can't say I've seen any difference. Has anybody switched to Valvoline 10w60 now that Porsche recommend this viscosity for 3.0 air cooled engines?

Re: ADAC and Brexit

Same on mine but I've kept it going as I do go to Germany each year and the Ring, ADAC do recover you from the ring if somethings goes wrong so for €35 or whatever it is it's a no brainer. I'm insured with classicline which includes European breakdown as standard for that specific vehicle so if you ...

Re: Non Porsche - First Motorsport Event of the Year Cooper

Been a good few times to Prescott Hill climb and been up the hill in a couple of my Porkers and a Caterham I owned.
Great fun but was always over too quickly.
Looks great fun in an original mini and yours looked quick.
