Re: 2.2E engine on ebay.

Too bad so many covers are missing; allowing dirt to enter everywhere.

Re: Any WWII airplane history experts?

I had a friend involved in hydroplane boat racing using a variety of surplus engines. He said that the Merlin and Packard and such were really not designed for servicing. The main reason was the service life of the engine generally exceeded the service life of the aircraft. Some engines needed exten...

Re: Information needed for 1971 911's

Yes, that would be useful. It appears that there is a big gap in the 911S coupe chassis #'s from mid 0800's to late 1000's. No idea why, but it helps to make sense of the lack of engines. So if anyone has a 911S coupe in that range, please contact me. So now I need to find out the production numbers...

Re: Little help with a chassis no please

Yes, definitely a coupe. It depends on how special the cars is, but the Kardex might be use in documenting it.

Re: Information needed for 1971 911's

Good thoughts Mike. The test chassis should have been in the first ten of each model type, and thus not production vehicles. Replacement bodies are a different set of numbers entirely. Neither of these should have anything to do with the 911S production bodies for coupe and Targa. The fact that for ...

Information needed for 1971 911's

Greetings fellow members, and I really need help from all members with a 1971 911 or engine / transmission from that year. The primary puzzle I need to solve is why the published data for the 911S has fewer engines (1959) than combined 911S coupe and Targa chassis (2198 taking into account the the f...

Re: Porsche COA

06/69 should be a 119xxxxxx (1969 MY) VIN and falls within what I can get. A very few 1970 MY Kardex do exist.

Re: Porsche COA

It is possible to get a Kardex through someone such as myself for most cars up through 1969 MY, however from 1970 through 1980 there is nearly nothing available.

Re: 914 rear brake conversion to 911 type brakes.

Are you using the 914/6 rear brake rotor or a 911 variant? The 914/6 version is the correct one to use unless you want vented rear rotors in which case you use the 914/6 GT rotor. The brake shield support bracket or washers of an equivalent thickness are required to ensure the caliper is correctly l...

Re: Paint code plaque

My data is very consistent with 936-9-3 for all of 1973. 925-9-3 was correct very early in 1972 MY.
