Re: '76 RHD 911 Carrera 3.o Non-sunroof

It is an original UK supplied car with manual gearbox. The Grand Prix White with black leatherette and green tartan seats is original. At some point a different interior was fitted, don't know if it has the original refitted or has been sourced alternatively. The dash is the correct 1976 only with n...

Re: '76 RHD 911 Carrera 3.o Non-sunroof

I've got a copy of the COA and a photo of it before it was painted purple clearly showing the sunroof.

The hatched PORSCHE lettering is also shown as original on the COA.

Has changed a bit since it was at auction in 2010. Originally it came with a sunroof but had been deleted by the time of the 2010 auction

This is the Kremer car at Classics at the Castle in 2017, it started out life as a 1974 Carrera 2.7 MFI but with with 3.0RS bodywork.

For the eagle eyed the registration was changed at some point.

I phoned the club today as hadn't got mine.
Appears there is a 'system glitch' with some bookings, but got my email with e-tickets sent out immediately.

Re: How desirable is the 1974 Carrera 2.7 MFI ?

They haven't changed the description at all, so who knows what it actually is. Would take a lot of money to restore as well if it is a 1974 Carrera 2.7

Did the original car you posted turn out to be a '74 Carrera MFI ?

Went to Paul Stephens who removed the '73 engine and fitted another 911/83 built on blank 7R crankcase. Was for sale at Paul Stephens in 2019 but I don't know where it is now.

The problem is finding RHD ones with the mirrror on the left one.

Rose Passion only show all black and LHD only.

Re: Plating and restrengthening suspension bolts

I had read about the possible embrittlement so have used new from Porsche for my Carrera 2.7 restoration. I would say most have come with the original yellow passivate finish but a lot have not. If you want the original look the sizes are listed in the parts catalogues and you can then search for th...

Re: Flares....

Darren,

One thing I think you have missed are the little bulgie bits in your above photos where the bumper mounts attach. I think this was flat on 74's and the bulge was put in on later cars to easier access the rear attachment nut of the crush/recoil tubes.

Great to hear that you are doing a proper job with the reinforcements and the trailing arms. Look forward to seeing and reading about the progress with this.
