Re: Carrera 3.o question
I've just been looking at the Carrera 3.o registry (see link below) and noticed that the register no. 3 is a very low-mileage car (10,000 miles) based in N. Ireland, and wondered whether its owner is a DDK'er or if anyone here knows about the car or have any pics? I know it's not for sale - just be...

Re: E Series Information Request
 and some bloody big boulders in that yard judging by the state of my floorpan Well, if your car may have been rallied (because of the dented floorpan), mine must have been raced over the Bonneville Salt Flats (because of all the rust...). It's not just yours, must be '74 Carreras in gen...

Re: subLiME 1975 Carrera 2.7 it's here at last!
It turns out that this was a different car, a 1974 model year in Emerald Green Metallic, sounds like a bargain for someone.

Re: subLiME 1975 Carrera 2.7 it's here at last!
Climey has been sold and I understood it to be in "good hands" in Leicestershire. There is considerable work needed, but all the important bits are present and will make a fabulous project. Hope the new owner is using DDK but I doubt it just yet. Regards, Bert Hi Bert, Do you mean the one...

Re: subLiME 1975 Carrera 2.7 it's here at last!
Guy, Thanks for the detective work ! The reason I asked was that a worthy on this forum might be the current owner and could share some pics as it is now. The pics in CAR are of the 1" x 2" variety and are of various detail angles of the car - almost as exciting as Mel Nicholl's prose (ya...

The Lime Green car quota is now also close to full LIMEY, bLIMEY, cLIMEY & sLIMEY Guy, I interpret your colour guide as: LIMEY = The original 'Limey' (Nigel's car) BLIMEY = The b illy964 lime car CLIMEY = The C ar magazine tested Carrera SLIMEY = Paul's (formerly s ilver) car So, my car's new n...

Re: subLiME 1975 Carrera 2.7 it's here at last!
what colour will yours be when finished? i know guy is restoring his to original, red Mine was originally silver. However, I feel the world doesn't need more silver cars. The silver car quota is close to full. Therefore, there will be one deviation from standard on my car. It will be lime green. An...

Re: subLiME 1975 Carrera 2.7 it's here at last!
Guy, XGK 11N appeared in the Motor test 28 December 1974 and CAR March 1975. I have had both of these magazines since new. There is also a short Dino comparison piece from Anthony Curtis(the Dino owner) in Motor 7 June 1975. The stat which impresses me is Motor's 0 - 160 kph of 14.6 sec - almost Tu...

Re: subLiME 1975 Carrera 2.7 it's here at last!
Does anyone know if the PCGB press car XGK 11N is still alive ? It was a good spec Lime green '75 with a large Durant door mirror. Cheers Dennis. :) Dennis, I found photographs of XGK 11N in Motor magazine when they tested the '75 Carrera. As it had black 'PORSCHE' scripts and headlamp washers I in...

Re: subLiME 1975 Carrera 2.7 it's here at last!
Interestingly a couple of UK RHD '74 Carreras I have seen had a Durant round mirror, not the flag type, can anyone else confirm this detail ? Were UK spec cars delivered like this ?, I would be surprised if there was this specific detail for UK market Phil, A round Durant drivers side mirror was st...

Re: subLiME 1975 Carrera 2.7 it's here at last!
Lucky lad ! One less on the shores of OZ. A lot of the 2.7 Carreras here seem to be turned into track cars these days. Does anyone know if the PCGB press car XGK 11N is still alive ? It was a good spec Lime green '75 with a large Durant door mirror. Cheers Dennis. :) Hi Dennis, Not quite the same r...
