Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
P.S. I contacted Frazer Nash archives, see if I get any response. I doubt they'll be able to dig anything up for 300882, as it wasn't ordered through AFN. It was shipped by/through AFN to England and is on their record. It's not on the AFN purchase ledger. There are LHD cars which were ordered for ...

Re: Anyone know Bovey & Son back in 1965
Absolutely. However, unlike a dealer like Parker and Parker etc I can find no evidence of Bovey and Son buying any cars. Which is why I think they are probably a company buying a single car from AFN for their own use or maybe for one of the directors/owners rather than a dealer. Yes, I think that h...

Re: Anyone know Bovey & Son back in 1965
Yes, the car in question did come through AFN, they all did, but some of the cars were supplied to dealers, one car went to Parker and Parker in Kendal etc..

Re: 1965 rhd July 911
Hi just wondering how rare a rhd July 65 911 might be .
Are there many rhd cars about ?
Thanks
If it's a UK 65 model year car (pre factory shutdown), there's only one out of the batch which is unaccounted for.
I'll be interested to see how this pans out.

WTB Silverstone Classic Tickets Sunday & Infield Parking
Hi All,
My arrangements have changed for this weekend, so I know it's a bit of a long shot, but I'm after two tickets and an infield Porsche parking permit for an early car for Sunday only. PM me if you can help out.
Many thanks
David

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
Great info Dave, how can you tell which car of which day were finished? That's mind boggling! I've spoken to Stuart Kay who holds the Australian Purchase Ledger info for Hamilton's. 300475 does exist and also shows us that these RHD cars were often built in batches of two. It was also Bali Blue with...

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
from my records only one of 7 MY65 worldwide. Hi Robin, Of your 7 cars, there are a couple in question. I've never come across chassis number 300475? As far as I knew MMU911C / 300474 was the factory RHD prototype that was tested until production of RHD cars commenced. 300475 suggests there were tw...

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
Front horn grilles missing their rubbers and RHS a poor fit, fit up of the front in general isn't perfect, other than that the car presents itself well IMO - nice patina in the interior. Early cars with 4 screw horn grills don't have a rubber, that came with the 2 screw horn grills (to take up the ...

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
The dash gives it away, the gauges are all in the wrong order. Where's the ignition key gone and what's the fresh air control doing on the right like that, mental!
Nice to meet on on Sunday BTW Phil!

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
MMU911C is a difficult car to use as a reference due to the fact it was the prototype and was SO very early. Detail RHD features would have been ignored at this point. You have to remember it's something like 1000 chassis numbers ahead of the first batch of RHD cars that were ever made. I don't thin...

Re: 911R Nadella Driveshafts
The Nadella's were necessary (at that period) on anything fitted with a factory LSD as the output flanges were Nadella only. I have a German friend with a 68S ordered new fitted with the SportKit 2, LSD and Nadella drive shafts. I'm not sure if his are hollow though. I'll ask him.

Correct Early Sigla Windscreen
Hi All,
Does anyone know if any of the UK specialists are stocking a correct Sigla marked windscreen for 65-67 911's? Sierra Madre has them and KK usually have them (but are currently out of stock). I could do with one fairly sharpish.
Thanks
David

This is brilliant Andrew, thanks for doing this. There's a 15% offer from Euro's at the moment that I'd already clocked, I'll keep my eye to them.
Thanks again

Re: Dansk Vs Original Novato SSI's
Thanks for the pics, the area of concern seems to be the location tab line up to the crank case and also one of the seams catching the lower valve covers? How far off are you to fitting them Gary?
