Re: 915 trans HEAVY DUTY clutch supplier needed!

I'll know the bolt number soon when the box is off and I can look at the clutch. That should be end of thursday this week. The engine is 1986, so is the crank. I have looked on the net for a better clutch kit, but seems the choice stops at the sache HD unit, but that is the same as the one I have no...

915 trans HEAVY DUTY clutch supplier needed!

My heavy duty Sach alum cover clutch kit for my 915 race box is falling apart I think.

I'm told by a very knowledgeable Porsche racer today there is a race version of this road going clutch.

Anyone know of a source please?

Re: Tyre sizing?

I think James has it sorted. He drives the 911 hard as he lives in God's County and with great visible roads. I don't. The West Midlands must be the opposite, so ragging a 911 is not really a good idea, THUS all i need is a good tyre in the wet and one that makes the speedo reading true, there are a...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Big Tick! We are doing now our 33rd year in the Midland Hillclimb Championship. Silly but addictive sport! My class mate had a big off this afternoon just to sober things up. He left before me and I got 20 mins baking in the Shelsley Walsh sun on the start line.... A full 3 secs slower than my PB, s...

Re: Rear bumper rubber body to bumper seal

Mine are like Gary's, 73T Coupe.
It is easy to fit them set back so you cant see them.

Not sure what is right, but i don't care much about originality on the car!

My seals all were new from OPC in 1989.

Re: attaching LWB bumper

On my 73T they are a simple one part U bracket. I used mine to pull one Dansk wing to fit the leading edge of the door using the head lamp bowl bolt. Worked a treat. Then I used spacers to get the bumper (f/glass) to fit the wing and the 'nose' on top of the horizontal leg of the bracket. You need g...

Re: All change at ‘Classic Porsche’ Mag?

I've stuck with it from the start to now. It dived after Keith in many areas esp when you compare it to Octane. Recently, it has had some good features, but for me far too 'historical' and deviates away from the cars, but just my take. The details at times are irritating as the mistakes are so funda...

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......

Had the morning to myself today, so washed the Boxster and took it out to dry the brakes off, to the local Farm shop, 2 20Kg bags of seed and peanuts into the boot and the frunck and stopped off at a nice hamlet/village on the way back for some late spring pictures. It was sunny but the phone took d...

It's been a treat!
Covered some of our favorite places, and some off our radar, so a good watch for us.

Car worked too, so a real bonus for all.

Re: Assessing an unknown engine

Well done Rob. Need to get all the parts out and check the IMS gear wheel for damage etc., but looks like a good engine. If it helps, when my 3.2 blew the alum grains were everywhere in the engine, oil cooler and all the galleries and pipes, just everywhere. I threw the oil cooler away as impossible...
