Re: Automotech AS-4T36 Mobile 4 Post Lift - For Sale

Morning all. Just to let you know I can't proceed with Martin at the present time. Unfortunately, escalating build costs of the garage have blown the budget for the lift :( Really disappointing as it is a good piece of kit. Ian Hi Ian, Thanks for your interest and good luck with your build. Martin

Automotech AS-4T36 Mobile 4 Post Lift - For Sale

Unfortunately my new garage will not accommodate my Automotech AS-4T36S Mobile 4 Post Lift. Frankly I am a little miffed to let this gem go as its a brilliant piece of kit which is mobile (when required), has a 3.6t capacity, runs off a domestic power supply and includes jack tray, oil trays and opt...

Re: 356A - Replacement Exhaust + Heat Exchangers & Control c

I feel guilty for a blatant plug - BUT PRS are the only company manufacturing proper Heat Control Valves - I was about to say exactly as the originals, however, we improved them by adding a slightly stronger internal return spring (that helps to give a more positive shut off) and in addition there ...

Re: 356A - Fuel Pump

Did your pump reduce on delivery of fuel? Why are you doing this work had the diaphragm failed? Roy Thanks for the feedback Roy. Mission creep - this process started as a simple oil change/service then quickly evolved into a new exhaust/heat exchangers then whilst I was waiting for parts, I popped ...

356A - Fuel Pump

Hi,

I'm going to have a crack at servicing the fuel pump on my 59 356a, so any tips would be gratefully received.

An extract from the factory manual refers to filling the fuel pump housing with special 'anti-freeze' grease?

Does anyone know what type of grease they are referring to?

Thx
Martin

Re: 59 356A 1600S - Engine Shroud Colour

This might help https://porsche356registry.org/article/231 Hey Neil, Very useful article and confirmation that 59 T2 Super engine shroud was Silver not Grey. The adventure continues having just pulled my engine for a clean-up whilst I wait for the new exhaust / HE - now just need to find a silver c...

59 356A 1600S - Engine Shroud Colour

Hi,

Does anyone have a Paint Colour Code for the Silver (or is it Grey?) Engine tin / shroud for a 59 356A T2 1600S ?

If not a code then any close matches from Halfords?

Thx

Re: 356A - Valve Adjustment (Confusion)

Gents,

Thanks all for your assistance.

Just had a passing visit from Dave Broughton (911 Classic) who kindly pointed out that the plug leads crossed over (hidden by generator) and yes the cable does end up at cylinder Nr 1.

Panic over and feeling like a complete twat.

Thx

Re: 356A - Valve Adjustment (Confusion)

Hi Kneeslider

Appreciate the feedback and as ever sounds like hard work to correct.

So does that mean I should be reversing the sequence to check/adjust the valves on cylinders 1 and 2 ?

Thx

356A - Valve Adjustment (Confusion)

Hi, Having pulled my old exhaust and heat exchangers, I am checking the valve clearance whist I wait for the parts to arrive. Following Heidi and Frannys Garage (my new heroes) video on U-tube, it would seem that when Top Dead Centre and the mark on the distributor are all aligned then the rotor sho...
