Max If you can help me too I'd be interested. My 68(/69?) swb targa could do with new belts up front, and I'd like some for the rear too. As it is if we go out as a family my wife has to squeeze in the back with the little man in his car seat up front. With belts in the back (and a suitably narrow c...

Gavin - I'll take one on the 21st if you can co-ordinate getting some from Paul.

That way he saves the postage, and Paypal don't get a cut either!

I'll be in the 912 if I can get it running well the weekend before. (Was a little 'iffy' whenI tucked it up before Xmas)

Otherwise I might bring the splitty... :bom:

...or the sensible car :(

Just switched all my policies to one provider - primo. They had a stand at the Top Gear Live/MPH event last October. Anyway, 2005 passat estate, 2003 Fraud focus, 68 912, 62 splitty, all fully comp, all with commuting, full business use on the two moderns, plus agreed value on the two oldies, for......

Hi Pete

I'm just across the Tendring peninsula, near Manningtree. My 912 is tucked up for the winter, but as soon as the weather improves it would be great to reinstate the 'Essex Boys' meets.

Good luck finding another car. Read all the advice available here BEFORE you buy - like I didn't

There's one picture here:

But I've not yet posted full details of the spec. Been meaning to add my own thread in the restorations sections, maybe that's my job for the winter.

What have you got in there? It's a warm type 1 VW unit, built slowly & properly by someone who knew what they were doing (not me!). It has EFI and a 911 style cooling fan, so it's pretty, and it gives 134bhp at the wheels accroding to the fancy machine. Never fails to make me smile. Now I know ...

Also some useful advice here:

John Maher has a good pedigree in the VW world, well worth a chat on your options.

When I was looking for a new unit for mine I spoke to these guys, but eventually went for a type 1 motor.

Harry Hill

Glanced at his new book at lunchtime in Sainsburys:

My butcher eats bacon for breakfast, pork for lunch & steak for dinner everyday - what does he weigh?

Sausages.
