What a difference a day makes!
I don't think my Dad will be very happy if that is true, as he will turn 80 next year.

1970 Porsche factory tour

Saw these pics on the net.
Three RHD's. Wow

The car in the first pic appears to have an MFI engine but I can't see the thermostat next to the oil filter so it's likely an E model. I wonder if the car is still in existence?

Re: Another early S bites the dust

Delivery should be reasonable, I paid less than £200 for somebody to haul my 911 onto a trailer in Norwich and bring it to me in Lichfield. It's them, Copart, doing the delivery, not a private hauler organised by the winning bidder, so I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be more expensive ot...

Re: Amazing barn find and a journey of discovery

Ok, further correction, I’ve now got the official confirmation. You were right Ian, the wheels are dated 1/69 and are 14’s. My bad. Sorry. Regards Mike So, if the birth date of your car is June '68, then you're right that 5.5 x 15 were most likely the original size. Incidentally, 14's are not even ...

Gary71 wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 4:44 pmConversely there is no such thing as original if it was a development car, it would have had a multitude of bits fitted over it’s time at the factory. In this case closest you can get is probably whatever state it was in when first sold to a public owner. :)
OK, I see what you mean. Thanks.

I wouldn't. If it's a Versuch car, it wants to be as original as possible. :)

Plus transportation to a nearest breaking facility (York in my case) whatever that costs. Unfortunately non-members can't get a quote. Are there any members here reading this thread? In the below link, there is a heading 'Delivery Quote' under the set of photos. All it takes is type in the post cod...

Re: Amazing barn find and a journey of discovery

MIke,
Is the white car pictured above the RHD blue '69E barn-find that you bought in 2012?

The tyre tread indicate 14-inch dia, which is what some E's had. But the indicators and horn grills are SWB?

Re: Another early S bites the dust

Surely that’s a candidate to be put in a container and sent to Aus or Japan, to be born again? According to their FAQ's: I am an overseas buyer and have export licences, can I use this service to buy CAT B’s and export them out of the UK? Under no circumstances can CAT B vehicles bought via Breaker...
