Re: Nostalgia: Lost and Found thankfully.

As a lad I built a Tamiya Wild one and then a 4wd one called A Ninja. Raced them ,crashed them , fixed them. Memories of clockwork timers and getting the batteries red hot to get out for the next race in time. Coloured ribbons on the antenna to signify frequency. I'd love to do it with my boys but i...

Can you tell.us the dimensions of the belt?

Re: Receiving Parcels from the EU Post Brexit....

Can somebody please enlighten me why retailers in NI are refusing to sell stuff to guys in England? Nope , but don't feel singled out. I've had loads of hassle the other way around and some outlandish shipping costs quoted too. I recently had a small item sent up from Dublin to NI. UPS wanted 55 eu...

Re: It started with a pop

Andrew, I'll find a link for you on the discussion. What does your afr and colortune tell you? I find getting the valves, timing, dwell, float levels and sync right will make your car happy. When you can get a steady idle at 800-850 with minimal rocking of the engine you are very close. Don't forget...

Re: It started with a pop

Andrew, I suspect your too high and rich at 61mm on the Bieker gauge. There was a long discussion on this on 912bbs with plenty of input including our own, good Ashley James. I have a Bieker gauge which I also found was too high @ 60.25mm. I have remarked mine at 58mm and that seems to be where my c...

Re: 912 Rear Shock Absorbers - any difference SWB/LWB?

I believe so. IIRC the long wheel base have different diameter mounting bolts at the bottom. 68 can be weird as it's the one year only thing. I ended up with the koni classic red shocks. Firmer than the 50 year old original boge units, but a very positive feel in road holding.

Re: JP Classic Line - Solex style 40 PII-4

I have been ducking this conversation for a while as I have no experience of these carbs and I run my original solexes without bother. On the 912bbs site there is plenty of discussion of Solex carb floats failing. Also that the Chinese made repro floats don't last. They fail and then sink leading to...
