Re: No none electric car sales from 2030??
A Citroen AX is the one really. 640kg for a whole car makes you wonder how a Caterham can possibly weigh as much as 500kg. There are so many glorious engineering details on them and they’re super-aero. Just typing this made me realise how much I want one. I wonder what you could get one down to wit...

Re: Milestone crossed today (with 928 rally car project)
Any more updates on this re build thread since 2020? Lots of work done (most of it in last 6 months of 2021) - will maybe take some more snaps and post them here. Difficult to see the work that goes into it. Some stuff that sounds easy .... like organising to fit twin master cylinders for a balance...

Re: OT: looking for a skoda fabia sized car
What about something like a Kia Ceed - your budget should get you some easily only 2-3 years old with another 5 years manufactures warranty left on it? Another good idea, I've been impressed generally with Kia and a friend has had many of them and loves them The 7 year warranty is "attractive&...

Re: OT: looking for a skoda fabia sized car
If other Ups are anything like my GTI - I would suggest one of the lower powered ones , not sure what the TSI type would have depreciated to in a few years , but I would have thought inside yr budget. Fabia hard to beat , but a change is probably "desired" by main driver ? (If not - repeat...

Re: 8000 rpm/300 bhp 3.2 rebuild
It sounds like some folks know about these things ............. my 2p : Don't just "bull in" and rewire , you'd be kind of miffed to find yourself back at square one X days later . STOP , think ,measure, check, manage, it sensibly... find the root cause - fix that (or at least engineer a w...

Re: 8000 rpm/300 bhp 3.2 rebuild
After emails with Clewett, looks like I will have to totally re-wire the engine plug leads and coil packs! The crank sensor must be min 8" from any of the leads or coils or the signal is drowned out by electrical noise, so this means ripping out all the careful lead routing i did and mounting ...

Re: 8000 rpm/300 bhp 3.2 rebuild
To quote "odd job" - go easy with the negative waves man .............. some simple shielding may be all that is required - if that's the issue (I think ..... note think , that is a semi intelligent possible solution ??)

Did you actually check for a spark ? (I would guess you don't have one ..... but would be good to know !)

Re: 8000 rpm/300 bhp 3.2 rebuild
good luck with the start up etc (If it was my vehicle , I would have a nice (possibly red ?) rubber boot over that positive connection on the kill switch ..... just takes a dropped spanner landing the wrong way, to have a diy welding course / exhibition )

Re: For Touring Motorcyclists ere:FIM event in Greece Sept'2
That's interesting. Greece is an awful long way though, and I don't have anything that resembles a touring bike! I did the Motogiro D'Italia in October last year on my F B Mondial, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable week among other likeminded crazies. Trying to do 1000+ miles on B roads in Italy on...

For Touring Motorcyclists ere:FIM event in Greece Sept'22
I know there is "the odd" Motorcyclist here -so this is just a FYI / heads up , about an event many of you may not know even exists ! It's a relatively new event on the FIM Calender - I did the first one about 5 ? years ago and have done a few more since. Essentially it's a subsidised soci...
